Easiest 11/10 I've ever handed out. Tons of extra thoughts and discussions going on the discord if you want to see those. I added a full comment on a lot of my thoughts on the YouTube upload as well if you guys wanted to take a peak at that. Just so much good to talk about here with this one. This is a show I'm going to remember for a LONGGG time.

(Also sorry I'm late here, was very busy today so was only just now able to get this up!)

Takopi discovered the he kept some memories and so he did a last rewind. And true some faint impression stayed with them causing the fight with the brother leading to have someone to talk and same for shizuka and marina. Couldn't think of a better ending for this situation. Don't like that he killed himself(?). A little drastic especially he knows now how to make people happy.

I remember reading before somewhere that the Japanese audience cares less about the mechanics of endings i.e "how did this happen? ". They care more about closure to the themes of the series. So sometimes you'll just get that "here's your ending that is emotionally satisfying but not logically" thing lol. But I get it. If you're going to hit one, hit the emotional beats first. And this was excellent. I still don't know if I'll ever watch this again. But nobody better ever hurt these three again, I swear.

I think that Takopi's "original sin" is simply the disobedience to the rule of not returning alone (or maybe returning without making anyone happy), as in the christian "original sin", the disobedience to the rule of not eating the apple. Anyway, what I mean is the original sin is disobedience.

killing himself as a sacrifice was the only way to give them all a 2nd chance at a "normal" life. one not twisted by the supernatural. and one slightly better (even if only slightly) for each of them.

yeah that would make sense. going into this i was nervous about the ending because i hadn't heard the best and the manga also wasn't rated that well. but this ending was incredible. People in the west these days (went on a rant about this in the discord lol) focus wayyy to much on realism while neglecting the overall messages the story is trying to tell. And I've also ranted in the discord as well as my YouTube comment section that even still this ending works out incredibly well with the way its done. It's a peak ending through and through

Whew what a series and finale! Well said in your post, I'm going to be remembering this for a long time as well. It's the emotional impact that matters the most I think, and this delivered. Thanks for the reactions!
