Time for some more tidbits - Tazuna being a horse girl is less of a theory and more just directly implied by the game, with the leading theory on who she's based on being Tokino Minoru, an undefeated horse from the 50s who was on track to win the Triple Crown before dying of an illness just after the Derby. Horse tails are actually pretty short, and are mostly hair, so she's probably hiding her ears under her hat and keeps her tail hair short enough to hide - You're getting to experience what it's like to be me now. Yuri is everywhere for those who are looking for it - The older woman announcer, Junko Hosoe, is a real horse racing announcer and is voiced by her real-life counterpart - The feathers in Teio's hair in her new outfit are the colors of her and McQueen - Teio did get injured IRL during/following the Japanese Derby

Mejiro palmer is an interesting story. Unlike Ryan or McQueen, palmer was not highly thought if by the family that trained the horses. She had an insignificant bloodline and didn't start her career off well. Notably, when palmer raced at her first G1 win it was a race that both McQueen and teio dropped out of. The mejiro didn't even bother to send anyone to accept an award, which palmer won. It's kind of messed up. Later in the anime, one of the last few s2 episodes, you'll see McQueen in her bedroom. She has a board up with pictures of fun times with spica ... But also a picture of Palmer's G1 win. What a nice girl McQueen really is. Luckily, palmer did have a strong career. Not as good as McQueen but better than mejiro Ryan. The other black haired one at the mejiro mansion is mejiro dober, a real life female horse.

Rice Shower is best girl and must be protected at all costs. Especially if you know the IRL stuff which if you haven't yet after watching everything, you should look up.

The cake on Special Week's head was in honor of her Jockey Yutaka Take's birthday, which is the same day as the race. And I believe the old man next to Gold Ship is her handler or owner. I could be wrong on that.

I have luckily gotten both of the Anime Alt Outfits in the game and they are both awesome.
