I love Opera O bro she's so goober. Anyway, new tidbits - Opera O is playable in the game, she was the first banner (and also my first successful career). Admire Vega is present, but not playable. I don't believe Narita Top Road is present just yet - Ayabe is in fact her nickname. Every girl has them. Most are just parts of their name (Suzuka, Teio, Rice, etc.), but some of them are a bit more creative like Admire Vega. Her nickname is based on the Japanese spelling of her name, which, when romanized is "Adomaiya Bega". From there, you take the "A" and the "ya" from "Adomaiya" and the "Be" from "Bega" to get "Ayabe" - There is an official release lol it's on the official Uma Musume Youtube channel. The subs seem to be pulled directly from there, cause that release also kinda overloads you with subs sometimes - The new male commentator isn't confirmed to be based on a real commentator, but he is voiced by a real commentator and the two share a resemblance

I think the thing with opera planning to run at the derby is a nod to irl events. There's a rule, the name of which spoils another horse's story so I'll wait, that allows horses that missed the registration deadline to still participate in the triple crown races. So that delayed things. Previously , they were ineligible. But opera's handlers were cautious of racing him in the sasuki sho because of the injury he had suffered. But after a solid recovery, oguri cap's owner actually advised opera's owner to race. So he did, and he won. This is the start of opera's amazing career, a lot of standout racers here. This is kind of the second golden generation" after spe, grass, El and sky retired. That helped keep horse racing thriving.

Uma Musume, only series where I can support NTR. (Narita Top Road)

You can actually watch this for free on youtube, maybe it's easier for the subtitles

As much as I love Road to the Top and Ayabe's whole story, I've just gotta wonder something. So Tracen obviously has top of the line medical and exercise equipment for the girls going there, but do they not have ONE LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST/THERAPIST? Ayabe's got so much survivor's guilt, that girl needs genuine professional help

Desolane

Apart from the fact that these are (obviously) horses and not humans, what exactly would a psychologist do with her? She's not mentally ill, nor is the traumatized. It's a matter of perspective, not of analysis. A professional can offer her no better advice than a random friend could do as well in this specific situation.

HyperFirez

Wanted to mention that Ayabe did make a small cameo in the BNW OVA. She was on Team W (red jerseys) iirc.

42:18 fun fact: if you think petite folklore is a funny name, the game has a runner named “one inch of love.” have fun finding it ✨
