Coping McCoperson

TM Opera O was the first horse to benefit from the Oguri rule, that's why they have her being so chummy with her in the RTTT episode

crazizzle85

Yup, the oguri cap rule being changed allowed tm opera o to compete in the classics. There's a lot of history between the two, actually. Originally opera's owner was worried about him participating in the sasuki sho because of not enough rest time. But oguri cap's owner changed their mind and opera won, starting his dominant career. And that's why they're friends in road to the top.

Parnik

You are really speedrunning this, lol. I mean, I binged it in one day once it ended, so really can't complain

Amaedo

i freaking love how this circles back to the scene with oguri and opera o in road to the top.. every umamusume project is so well thought out to mimic IRL history it's honestly crazy

Amaedo

Also this has to be the biggest fakeout in anime history istg 😭😭😭

Decayed Lulzul

I appreciate how fast you're breezing through the series. really getting good value from this patreon membership way more than just about any other channel out there.

Sunshine Amigo

i dont know if anyone has mentioned this before but Tracen academy's full name is actually Japan Umamusume Training Schools and Colleges. it probably explains why some umas have been there for so long.

bluestReacts

ah ok so it does have college extensions to it! yeah no i had never heard this before that's really great info.

Woodaloo

Another racer also allowed in the classics cause of the Oguri Rule is Kitasan Black btw

That Maruzensky recap xD Just to repeat it, Maruzensky's was born in Japan, but conceived outside of Japan, so he was labeled as a foreign horse and not allowed to race in the major classics. His owner begged the JRA to give an outer post for the Derby, essentialy allowing Maruzensky to participate in the race, but not getting ranked, just so he could prove his strength. This request was denied. The changes made to the JRA rules allowed for both late entries and foreign horses, but at a far higher entry fee for each race than normal.

im pretty late to this, but im not sure if you picked up on the fact that dicta basically had to sit out of the satsuki sho due to her injury, which gave the open spot for yaeno muteki to get in and win.
