International racers' irl names: Obey Your Master is Pay the Butler, Tony Bianca is Tony Bin, Michelle My Baby is My Big Boy, Ellerslie Pride is Bonecrusher, and Moonlight Lunacy is Moon Madness

Belno light is thought to be based on Twin Bee. Unlike other cases, her name isn't used because it's the name of a Japanese videogame. But she has the two B's in her hair. Twin B. Toni Bianca is based on the legendary Irish horse Toni bin. Moonlight lunacy is based on moon madness. Michelle my baby is based on an american horse, called My big boy. Ellerslie is based on a new Zealand racehorse called bone crusher. Fun fact, the name comes from a statue of bone crusher calling him the "pride of ellerslie". Obey your master is based on a horse called "pay the butler". As expected of uma lore, don't look those up yet. Lmao

Just for reference, Hishi Akebono is 180cm in the game. Michelle my Baby is so big

She scary.........Obey your Master.....

The one use of AI in anime that I would totally accept and be okay with, translating the text in belno's notebook on the screen / other text. Because yeah the subtitles in this series is next level degenerate.

Ok now that im caught up on Blues reactions I guess ill go back and start again on Season 1, or maybe go back and watch some of my favorite scenes again

18:50 evidence that Tazuna and Akikawa are Umas hiding their ears and tails (and MEANT to be, hence the sharing of the birthdays with the horses they are based upon).

I agree Belno should be a support card. They have support cards for trainers and other staff that "don't really exist" yet they are so timid to use these other characters. Belno belongs in the game 100%.

36:16 Again with the "localizers" she says she'll give her a bottle as a present. You can HEAR her say "present" but they make it "I'll bring a bottle with me next time" when it should be more like "Next time I see you, I'll give you a bottle" or "I'll make sure to gift you a bottle next time" or "Next time, I'll bring a bottle as a present for you." The way they "translate" it makes Oguri's thanks make less sense and is just inaccurate. "Bring a bottle with me" doesn't clearly state the charity of gifting it that she literally says. Sure, it still makes sense, it's an "implied" gift, but she doesn't imply it it Japanese, she states it clearly.
