The touring joke is not a japanese pun lol, it's one of the rare english ones that you are actually able to understand. Bikes have 2 wheels, therefore "two rings", ie. "Touring". So Hachikuji said if he were to get a car he would be "fourring" instead because a car has 4 wheels, so "four rings". She's got a misconception about how touring is spelt and what it means.

As a long Monogatari fan, almost up to date with the anime, there is so many instance that tickle my brain in a certain way. To be more precise, it's like Apothecary Diaries, when you get a little piece of puzzle that you understand later, like in season 2, that one of the first cases was about a lady in waiting looking like the concubine that she serve and then impersonate her, taken like that it was just a case, but with the story of Shisui/Loulan later on, this story gain another interesting meaning. It's the same here, there is so many little touch that make your brain say "oooooooh" when you know it lol.
