At this point I think they've been friends for about 3-5 weeks, and the long timeskip was between starting school and her approaching him. Remember in the first episode before she left his house she said that it was the third time she'd been over, and they also mentioned that he invited her over the first time she asked to hang out because he couldn't think of what else to do. Presumably she's visiting weekly on Fridays when he has the house to himself. So that's three Fridays (2 weeks) that we know about from episode 1. They had one more hangout at his house in this episode, so that's three weeks total. Their day out was a Friday too, so that's four weeks (although in episode 1 she said she wanted to go out "next week", so maybe their home hangout in this episode wasn't on a Friday? I'm not sure). Then we had a few extra days after their day out in this episode, and possibly up to a week between her first approaching him and their first hangout.
