The fight with Reid is basically all Julius has left at this point. He’s lost basically everything that was important to him and beating Reid is basically the only thing he has to be able to prove to everyone that forgot him that he’s an established knight

Such a great episode that mirrors & puts a bow on the Episodes where Subaru was being stubborn & Julius having to teach him a lesson in front of everyone so the other knights grudges against Subaru would flare down I love how the Episode opens up with the line by Julius and he finishes it at the end of the Episode Kind of like in the Theresia Episode 1:50 they Re:Animated this part in the new art style to show different perspectives. You have no right to stand besides her“ I’m glad you realized it’s almost the same situation as Julius VS Subaru as soon as Round 2 popped up 31:55 the only crack so far was us seeing Julius lose his temper against Roy when Joshua’s memories got brought up and he couldn’t remember which really triggered Julius and is probably what have Roy the opening to take Juliuses name 38:52 good shout I actually didn’t consider that, in writing and framing that’s actually really meaningful but i didn’t consider it when I watched it. That’s why I love your channel 44:37 It’s because as he said Subaru in front of all of Royalty rejected the concept of the positions and fate of everyone in the kingdom which resonated with Julius because as he lost to Reinhard on an instant he tried his best to make peace with the fact he’s always going to be a weaker knight which is why he’s doing his utmost to be the knightliest knight. That’s also why he seems to be so at peace with himself around Subaru when he can just be “Juli” since Subaru doesn’t have all these cultural norms and values engrained in him since he’s form Japan and not from Lugunica he doesn’t care about all that and just sees you for the person that stands in front of him which is something a lot of characters value even Reinhard himself 44:46 I wouldn’t even say just strength but also Knightlyhood and chivalry And not just lack of strength but also no noble family to back him or having anything to his name. He was a literal nobody popping up out of nowhere doing that Favorite Episode so far, the whole team cooked so hard man. This adaptation has been stellar so far.
