I don't know that Minato has actually fully realized he's in love with Koyun. All his internal monologues are about how confused he is. That he doesn't understand why he reacts the ways he does when in it comes to Koyun. I think it is all building to a big "Eureka!" Moment when he actually realizes his feelings.
