Yeah, this season’s batch of gfs was definitely the author testing how much he could get away with. And if you couldn’t tell, it’s quite a lot. As for limits the manga did eventually find its limit on what it could show a lot later and the anime found its limit with Chiyo bondage. Name puns for the last few I missed: Kishika Torotoro: Kishika contains Kishi meaning Knight. Torotoro is a homophone for the Japanese word for Melty, for the way she melts when pampered. Yaku Yakuzen: Yakuzen is the word for Medicinal cooking. Yaku is derived from the Yakusugi tree. Yaku is also written in Katakana since many people back in the Meiji and Taisho era (1868-1926) didn’t know Kanji. Obviously Yaku isn’t from 1926 but old people have Katakana only names is still associated with being old. Yaku’s birthday is also on the same day Hiroshima was bombed, August 9th. Momi Momiji: this one’s easy. Her full name is a homophone for squeezing, which I shouldn’t have to explain why that fits. Yasashiki Yamame: Yasashiki means gentle, Yama means mountain and Me means woman. Which is exactly what Yamame is. Her birthday as well falls on August 11th which is Mountain day in Japan. “Naddy” Nadeshiko Yamamoto: her name is what people use to describe a traditional Japanese woman. Her birthday is also the foundation day of Japan February 11th. Also weirdly she’s the only left handed gf even in the 37 gf manga. Lin Chiyo: her name is a homophone for chairperson and is a reference to her being student council president. Her birthday October 1st is Glasses day in Japan. As for episode specific references, I just don’t know any. Although this is the first experience with the Series Group, who will be back in the future. I also don’t remember what chapters come next so these next few will be interesting to see, although I think I know exactly where it’s ending and that’ll be a good send off.
