When are we getting Blue Box Eps 3 reaction?

This was one of my favorite episodesss. I love how this story gets so messy and complicated but all the messiness of everyone's feelings are always written so realistically. Like yes I feel like overall igarashi was more in the wrong from their relationship, but seeing his POV, you can really understand why he acted the way he did. (even though brother had insane blinders on lol) With all the miscommunications/misunderstandings in this story, when things are finally worked out it feels so refreshing. The episode title being "relief" is spot on

I dunno, I definitely put a lot more fault on Koyuki with this (though obviously this isn't a black-and-white cut issue of blame, they just weren't a good match). She had endless issues with Igarashi that she continually refused to vocalize, never even tried to open up about her own problems, and spent basically the entire relationship assuming that Igarashi's feelings weren't genuine and that he was looking down on her; she then went out of her way to terminate the relationship in an intentionally mean way to vent her frustrations. Igarashi isn't the most socially conscious person in existence and he's pretty blunt, but he at least made a genuine effort to be forthcoming about his feelings; his main failure was not realizing Koyuki wasn't doing the same, despite never actually telling him 'no'. Ironically Koyuki herself also has pretty poor social consciousness and is pretty blunt; the main point of difference between the two is that Igarashi just goes for the things he wants while Koyuki is fundamentally passive, even in regards to love. Ultimately I think the main culprit is that Koyuki, due to the numerous issues in her life, wasn't in the right headspace to deal with people charitably at that time and Igarashi needs a partner willing to be upfront and honest with him.

Hmm I see what you’re saying! It is interesting bc the anime softened Igarashi a bit! In the manga, there’s more examples of koyuki trying to give it a go with him when they’re dating and you actually see the examples of her mentioning her hobbies and interests and he dismisses those things as weird or not interesting. So you see a bit more what she means when she questions his feelings for her bc to her it feels like he doesn’t actually care for her likes or know her as a person. And the physical intimacy part is made a little more clear as an issue. Like in the manga koyuki actually says “you kissed me without permission” and igarashi kinda downplays it like everything else. Of course, the anime didn’t include these things ^ but just to say the OG manga story drew the line a bit clearer on putting blame in different ways on both sides. Also I do want to defend Koyuki a little bit here bc I love our awkward girl lol~ even though she didn’t properly communicate her feelings with igarashi, the anime does show her saying things like “I cant do this anymore” and she’s literally crying randomly at multiple times but Igarashi's view of their relationship was ~every day being filled with happiness~😭. So yes she was horrible at communication, but at the same time, Igarashi was very blind to the situation too. And even though Koyuki doesn’t explicitly say “no,” we’re shown her body language and what she did say to Igarashi was sooo not on the same page with him but he would still initiate kisses with her anyways. So yes he was genuine in showing his feelings, but she was pretty genuine in her discomfort too. But at the end of the day - both of them are just such a bad bad match! Haha they are like the opposite of what each other needs. But that’s just how I read it! Haha I think them making up was done really well though!

I think the weird part for me watching shows like this is I always feel defensive whdn people attack teens too harshly. I think it's because I'm older. I just end up seeing everyone as kids doing their best in a situation where failing and screwing up is essential to growth. The bully in middle school .. I get it. But with someone like momoka, she's absolutely in the wrong and the story acknowledged this. But I think she's ultimately going to be hurt the most at the end, so when she gets her comeuppance I hope it comes with her learning she screwed up and having an ok ending. I just can't see her as awful or a PoS. She's a bad teen but like... Lots of teens are. It's a big time for bad behavior. They're still kids. It's probably easier to feel hate if you're closer in age to them lol I'm sure I did. The one area I sympathize with her on is that she did, in some ways, try to play fair. You can see that look in her eyes sometimes where it seems she's regretting things. I think she's very much deluding herself too, and it's hard for me to hate her when koyo manipulated a guys feelings to get revenge on her bully , ... They're dumb kids. Except the bully.

I pretty much agree with everything you're saying; I've also read the manga?(is that the proper term for a longstrip) as well, and now that you've reminded me there were some bigger instances of Koyuki really giving him a shot they didn't include! Similarly Igarashi is being pretty inconsiderate with his physical affection; I'm sure from his perspective he's just taking initiative, but given how withdrawn Koyuki is, he really should have been paying closer attention before doing something like giving her a kiss unprompted. Ultimately I don't think either of them are really 'blameworthy' per se, but through a combination of meeting eachother at a bad time, misunderstandings they were too young to work through, and the environment of their middle school, they ended up in an unfortunately toxic relationship that I think traumatized them both a little. It's great seeing them work out their problems now that they've had a bit of distance since then and can contextualize each other better. Just wanted to stick up for Igarashi a little bit since Bluest is pretty comfortably in Koyuki's camp and ultimately I think the fault lies a bit more with circumstances more relevant to her than him; not that she's at fault for being bullied or going through a divorce of course, but ultimately those events in her life ended up contributing to her and Igarashi not being able to understand each other.

Yessss! Totally agree with you! And haha don't get me wrong, I like Igarashi now too! His redemption arc this ep is one of my favorite plot lines in the story! I love how in this episode it's not like Koyuki and Igarashi are both crying and apologizing and hugging it out. They're fighting and yelling and taking jabs at each other and it’s so refreshing to see because they’re basically speaking openly and honestly to each other for the first time! And I love that in little ways you can see Igarashi has grown- like when Koyuki tries to be polite and say hi when they first run into each other - Igarashi immediately calls her out for putting on a front! - Something he probably wouldn't have picked up on before because he was so bad at reading her emotions lol so yes love all our characters in this story! (The only two I don’t ride for are Momoka and older sister Atagawa lol 🫩☠️ )
