As I stated in an earlier post, I just couldn't wait, this games story, cinematic experience has gotten the best of me and making me think about it all weekend! Well, not any more... It's Play The Tape time!

I didn't want to cover any of the lore videos or previous games (just yet) because I wanted to continue this adventure as the "new customer" to this franchise. Can I still enjoy it and take from it as an independent entity, not a saga so to speak. I know I would have enjoyed it more knowing everything from the lore but I'm not a loyal fan... just yet. It also allows me to approach this with a different set of lenses as a consumer. This is going to be interesting!!

Enjoy the video guys,

Kai

P.S. Part 2 coming this Friday! I spoil you :D

YESS THANK YOU

Squilliam Fancyson

Yes!! Been refreshing since the announcement!! Thanks Kai, I'm so excited to see you analyze my favourite game!

Michael

Thank you for uploading this already, can't wait to see the rest! Also , i would agree that this game is better in every way. The first one was already amazing, but this one is just *chef's kiss*.

DMCDrake

Loved the reaction! There's some info from the first game that might give you some more insight into Kratos' character. There won't be any spoilers for Ragnarok, but I'll put the important bits below, so don't read further if you intend to react to the first game. *God of War 1 Spoiler warning* The reason Kratos initially sought revenge against the gods is because Aries tricked him into killing his own wife and daughter. After this an oracle cursed Kratos by fusing his family's ashes to his skin, that's why he's so pale and what gave him the nickname "the ghost of sparta". I just feel like knowing about his first family explains a bit more why he's so protective to Atreus.

Dylan

niiiice enjoying these. the 'turd that wont flush' lmao

Chase Hill

For those that already know about the story and spoilers: I was always confused how Atreus got the dogs soul in his knife...but at 11:10 you can see 1 of the 4 parts of the dog's soul drift over to Atreus' knife while the other 3 fly off. Such crazy detail you have to pay close attention to I love it.

omster

hahah, so soon! I was expecting this in like a month or two lmao

LightsCameronAction

Love it, should consider watching the first 3 games really makes you understand why kratos is the way he is and adds depth to the choices he makes and the character as a whole.

Kai Zammit - Filmmaker Reacts

I've got them on the list so they could come sooner rather than later! I'll put a poll up on the Patreon once we've finished Ragnarok and see what everyone wants.

Dan Barrios

don’t know why nobody mentions the fact that the channel cuts off a lot of dialogue. kinda annoying

Kai Zammit - Filmmaker Reacts

Both the channels I watch, Gameclips and Gamer's Little Playground aren't the greatest but there's still enough for me to enjoy myself and unpack for you guys.

Daniel LordDial

So, I guess you already watched the whole game? If so, was it with or without the (free) story DLC Valhalla, that takes place after the main story? Bc if you haven't, you really should. It is a rogue lite, but also very focused on continuing the story. But also heavy spoilers for all the previous games, mostly the main 4. Well, so much so, that most of the stuff shown depends on you knowing what happens in the games and Kratos' backstory. If you plan on watching all the previous games (GoW 1, 2, 3, Ascension, Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus, I believe), then you also definitely should check out the Valhalla DLC, after having watched all the other games.

LEO Leo

I hope that u watch the old trilogy its a masterpiece

LEO Leo

Yes of course i mean its better if u watch before 2018/Ragnarok but its fine

Shadgorl

I’m sure others have expressed their concerns over the missed dialogue outside of battle as they add SO SO much context to the scenes and extra info but regardless, your attention to detail is insane! Makes up for it a bit 🙌

Eva Eneremadu

I was literally checking my YouTube every few hours to see if you already watched Ragnarok 🤣 I binged previous videos with my partner who introduced me to God of War and we loved it

Kai Zammit - Filmmaker Reacts

Thank you for being apart of the Community and being here in the Dojo Cobra Kai Orange Belt. Ragnarok part one is coming today to YouTube, I hope you like it. Sounds like your partner has great taste. Did you play together or was you watching from the side?

Eva Eneremadu

Thank you, we couldn’t wait and purchased the episode already, I hope next one will be available to buy soon. He was happily watching from the side, it was my first big game that I ever played and I needed help with opening certain chests. I am playing it for second time now and it is just amazing game. I even got Blades of chaos for my bday 🤣

Average Alex

I'm so confused, it wont let me go full screen on any of these god of war videos. is anyone else having this problem?
