First time checking out this game and all the Killers Trailers! I think I understand the concept of the game and is it actually as fun as it looks? Granted my nostalgia hit for some of the franchises really made me think it was, potentially bias. The power of character/franchise connections with consumers, yikes! This is why they do it and why they should keep it up.

I played Dead by Daylight for years, though I stopped a year or two ago. I joined during Nurse I think, and played all the way to just after Chucky. I only played Ghostface when I played Killer, and he's still my favourite even if I don't touch the game much anymore. Michael Myers was my favourite to play against, especially when they play as jumpscare Myers. Hundreds of hours of fond memories, as both survivor and killer Killer is first person, but Survivor is third person. The reason the killer for Saw is the pig is because that's not Jigsaw, since he's an old man with cancer, but his apprentice, Amanda Young. Yui (the biker) got off her bike because she'd driven into the fog, which is how people get abducted and taken into the entity's realm in lore. She realised she wasn't in the same place, and didn't know she was being chased until after she stopped. If I recall correctly, she was in a street race at the time when she was taken. Funny you said you didn't like the Skull Merchant because she's probably the most hated killer in the game, and a lot of people theorise that she was meant to be a Predator crossover but something fell through (similar claw weapon, drones, etc). Her gameplay made her one of the most hated killers to play against when I was still playing, to the point where people would just quit rather than play against her. I believe the Ghoul lore is that the Entity took him during the torture he went through, at his lowest, and used it to turn him into a killer.

Been waiting for this one! 1. I have around 800 hours so far, with most of that being Killer. Haven't watched the video yet so I don't know if you've pieced it together, but it's a little 1v4 game of, essentially, lethal hide & seek. It used to lean more towards horror when it came out, but nowadays it's more arcadey in the sense that nobody's really hiding in bushes anymore. 2. My favorite is probably "The Huntress", since you don't get a crosshair for throwing your hatches so any sick shot you make feels 100x cooler. Other than her, I like killers with interesting/unique powers, so "The Singularity" who can shoot blobs at any surface to create surveillance cameras, or "The Unknown" who's a creepy fella that shoots these grenade-like projectiles out his stomach and can teleport to clones he passively leaves behind. 3. I think I bought the game around the time of the Saw dlc, but it's honestly been so long I can't remember. I just remember being into the movies and that was the one I was excited to play. 4. Spoilers! Edit: Just finished watching, and since they didn't show it I highly recommend searching up the promotional teasers leading up to The Unknown's release (he's the one with the cool CCTV footage). They posted a series of mysterious teasers across different social medias hinting at what the killer might be. Some are text documents, some are Blaire Witch style found footage, some are literally doorbell camera footage, all are crazy well done. The concept of it is that nobody knows what it is, which is why there are so many differing eyewitness accounts. It's sort of like an amalgamation of urban legends, taking the characteristics of everything people believe it to be, even mimicking its victims' voices and (trying) to imitate the appearance of a human. It's honestly the best promo work I've seen for one of these multiplayer games, and it's a shame because the main person behind that DLC's marketing was one of those who were let go as part of company lay-offs.

I've been playing this game a ton lately and it's so fun ngl, vecna from D&D is definitely my favorite killer to play, with Micheal Myers as my second favorite

In regards to Freddy Krueger, it's actually the diddler version of the character. They were only given the rights to the reboot version of him. The same with Ripley for Alien. They got the rights to use the likeness of the comic book version of the character if I'm not mistaken

I play the game far too much, my favorite killer is the huntress, and i didnt need a trailer to want to play it as asym games are rare and good asym games are rarer especially since evolve got taken out back and shot for it's horrendous monetization practices

I'd argue that critique of horror you gave around the 4 min mark saying "it's all about the slashing not about the story". This varies HEAVILY depending on genre of horror and director. If you want horror with a great story that'll stick with you watch something like Midsommar or Hereditary from Ari Aster

It can be a little rough starting out for some people, it also depends on if you play killer or survivor but overall I didn't have too much trouble getting into it and the majority of the community I've met is pretty nice. Some game mechanics can be pretty overwhelming at first especially with how many killers and abilities there are now but overall the new player experience really isn't as bad as some people say it is imo

Yeah there's a whole gang of new ones in 3! Not the greatest film of the series but a fun one. They did a Hellraiser remake about 2 or 3 years ago and it was actually fantastic

I think you'd really enjoy the cinematography of Midsommar. It's a horror film that happens all in broad daylight as well which is particularly fun.
