The start of us checking out the Christopher Nolan Batman Trilogy and oh my goodness, what a banger! I love me an origin story anyways so this was pure utter heaven.

This was so much fun to watch with my filmmaking lenses on and I can't believe how much stood out to me which I discuss as we go through the film together.

Even though this was an absolute beast of a Batman movie, there was something that I wasn't a fan off and for the first time ever!! Something caught my eye and at the end, we do a baby filmmakers breakdown of a scene to see what it was that made me unhappy.

This is just the start of our Batman binge so buckle up people, this bats gonna fly!

Saw this in 70mm IMAX a few months back, was incredible

Definitely agree with the action scenes, especially when seeing it on such a big screen it was a struggle. It works for some scenes but not all.

Great reaction as always! For the action scenes, I believe I had read somewhere that the suit for Batman begins was stuff where a lot of the fighting movements for Christian Bale were severely limited. In the dark knight there was definitely an improvement in how much they actually show Batman fighting and I think they managed to make it more accessible for Bale to use. Can’t wait for your reaction to the Dark Knight! Happy Holidays mate

God what a brilliant movie. And your commentary as usual made it somehow 10 times better. The little breakdown at the end was something i really liked. Going into a bit extra detail on something i otherwise never would have learnt or understood. The fight scenes were rougher then i remembered, but there wasnt a whole lot that they could do because of the suit constraints

The narrows is part of Arkham City, if I remember correctly Gotham was hit by a major earthquake and that part of the city was condemned and then turned into the mega prison. There is an excellent set of stories called Cataclysm & No Man’s Land. Well worth buying and having a read.

What a treat. Love the content Kai. This is one of my favorite directors and Bale is such a great actor, RIP Michael Caine he was the best Alfred ever.

Hanz Zimmer on the OST

The bit where they show the big container ship at sea, to me the sway of the camera really sold that the set was actually a ship at sea. Like it's rocking with big waves.

The weight thing it weird. He lost 62 pounds for the Machinist he filmed right before Batman.
