I don't know how this franchise has become one of my favourite but it has. This game is OUTRAGEOUS! I'm in love!

I've not yet had the time to watch all the Batman stuff lately, so today I've binged the last bit of Arkham Asylum, the entirety of Arkham City, and the first half of the Lego Batman movie (I am surprised by how good it is this far, never would've seen that movie on my own, but what a gem!), and now even more to binge out the rest of the day! Love it. This game was my absolute favorite of the 4 batman games, one just can't help but feel badass playing it, and probably watching it as well. Thanks for all the content, very much appreciated!

Hit the nail right on the head with the Batmobile, the #1 complaint this game received was its overuse. The concept and execution are really good in my opinion, but as you said, "too much of a good thing".

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is their newest game and it's terrible, as you mentioned. The difference is, the people that made these OG games were long gone by the time that game started development. It wasn't even the same genre of game either. That game was just an embarrassment. Sucks because the original trailers for it looked great.

One thing I'd like to mention is that in Arkham City when you're fighting Freeze, Batman hallucinates for a few seconds and sees the Joker instead. That's where I believe his mind starts being "infected" by the Joker. P.S. I absolutely LOVED the Joker in this game, he really adds to the comedic relief to such a serious story.

I only watched Batman the animated series and justice league unlimited before playing the arkham games so I didn't know much about batman lore. So I personally didn't know who the Knight was when the game released. You pretty much hit the nail on the head as soon as you saw the car they overused it in my and many others opinion. Even one of the side bosses(no spoiler) which was one of the most memorable fights in the previous games just became a tank battle basicly which was a huge let down. Which is a shame because it's still one of my favorite games. Even now sometimes I reinstall it and play it for a bit with some cool batman suits mods and yeah like I said in the arkham city video it's still one of the most visually impressive games. I personally loved the joker parts especially how he keeps interacting with you throughout the game With that said haven't clicked on a video this fast in my life xD can't wait until the next part!

Such an unexpected line from the Joker: Oh bats i've missed you, all the subtlety and nuance of a napalm enema. Im sorry what?? This line i have somehow managed too miss. But besides that... FINALLY ITS HEREEE. I have waited so so long for this reaction, and it sure as hell doesnt disappoint. It would be really fun too watch you actually play through the game, either on stream or videos. Its something else when you get too play and decide exactly how you move about and destroy the poor unsuspecting goons This game means something special too me, and i still play it consistently every so often ever since i got it on release day. The reason the game is so so good is because the creators actually cared. There is a reason it looks better then games releasing now adays. its absolutely insane

It’s funny you say this looks like a game released in 2025, when it’s actually a game from 2015. Somehow it’s over a decade old but it still looks better than most games released now

Finally a play-through of an Arkham game with PhysX turned on, the debris, the smoke, the breakable wall / floor tiles etc. Everything in terms of PhysX is already in Arkham Asylum. Crazy to think how Asylum to Knight are built on Unreal Engine 3 and how much they squeezed out of it. Arkham Knight had to run on the Xbox VCR aka Xbox One (not to mention the late Switch 1 release). As a little side-note: As far as I remember NetherRealm (Mortal Kombat makers) is credited in Arkham City. The initial release of Arkham Knight on PC was very under cooked and had be to taken off digital stores until it was fixed enough and even after it was made available again it was tough to run - still to this date especially with the NVIDIA gameworks features. I smiled when you mentioned how immersive the video transmissions are on Batman's arm, because there is one 2008 game that is pure immersion where everything is in-world / diegetic and I mentioned it too often already.

Suicide:kill the justice league was a flop. It has the hallmarks of rocksteady but unfortunately the publishers wanted a live service game. Y'know, they saw fortnite and the like raking in cash and thought they could do the same, so we got what we got and rocksteady did their best to make something of it regardless. It definitely deserves it's rep, but i did play it, and i did enjoy it for what little time i did play it

Another great video! You've made me play the series over again. The only game I hadn't played was origins and thats because it came out so close to the Xbox One and PS4 release back in the day and was a last gen exclusive at the time.

Hey Kai so about how many "sons" or "Robins" Batman has, I could say canonically it has been mantained with 4 main ones: -Dick Grayson. The original Robin who later becomes Nightwing -Jason Todd. The second Robin who dies in an incident and gets revived and becomes Red Hood. -Tim Drake. The third Robin and the smartest one, who is the actual Robin in the game. -Damian Wayne. The last Robin and only biological son of Bruce and Talia al Ghul, but raised from the start from her. Thats just an extra info in case you need it. Not all of them are in this trilogy just so you know

Nope, his face got torn from Killer Croc when he gets snatched in Asylum. His "mask" is literally his face sewn together. You can see his teeth are out in the open because he no longer has a mouth

Arkham batman is such a beast. This games stealth combat is completely unmatched to this day in mechanics and freedom. You're not gonna see any of it here, but enemies also have amazingly complex reactionary dialogue to your playstyle in the stealth sections, and the militias behaviour is adaptive to you kinda like Mr Freeze in Arkham city. 90% of Jokers dialogue and in game story/world building dialogue is missing too. For example the Joker is mocking Batman the whole drive to GCPD about how he's gonna tell Jim about Barb. In a weird way he's Batmans internal thoughts throughout the story twisted through a Joker lens. Losing the Arkham knights dialogue is also a choice and a half. This game also has every movie batmobile and batsuit in it, something I know you'd appreciate. You've definitely got a lot to look forward to playing it yourself haha.

Back then I knew very little about the lore of the Batman universe, or the DC universe itself, so I didnt have a clue about who he was, except that it was no regular villain. My spider sense thinks you will figure it out very soon before its fully revealed. Oh and by the way, this game has some DLCs with small missions at the end of it with some of the other characters, and I think it would be worth checking out how the dynamic changes with each one. I dont know if the video includes them, but you already know now.

It also really suffered from a confused Vision & development hell, Reports detailed a tumultuous development with constantly shifting goals, leadership issues, "toxic positivity," and a pivot from melee combat to gunplay that confused staff. Along with Rocksteady have pretty much no experience with a live service game. There was also studio interference from Warner Bros and they kept changing what game was supposed to be. Sadly its a fate that several good franchises have suffered from. The other famous on being Deadspace 3 with EA pushing for Visceral to change it from survival horror to a Co-op action shooter.. which visceral never wanted to do and it alienated the players. Dawn of War 3 was also a victim of this.

Glad you started arkham knight! a reminder that batman only took half of the cure during arkham city so whatever is left inside batman got amplified when he got exposed to the scare toxin. Joker's presence is important because he tells you the lore and what horrible things he did. in a way joker's dialogue is also batman's inner thoughts

The best thing about the voices in this game? Kevin Conroy voices Batman in the original Batman The Animated Series in the 90s. Mark Hamil who plays Luke Skywalker in the old Star Wars trilogy movies, voices the Joker in the same cartoon classic. Both Kevin and Mark played their respective roles not only in the cartoon but in this game. So good! The fact this game STILL looks this good in 2025 is crazy. It's as if the game was 10-20 years ahead of its time. It puts even Gotham Knights game to shame.
