This show has got the momentum and it isn’t stopping. I hope…

As much as I love this episode, there’s a certain scene that made me sad. You know what one I’m on about and it was a tough pill to swallow especially as we know the fate of one of the characters😢.

You see in the post watch review me trying to figure out ways they could smooth that out for us the audience that seems fitting for a character’s departure. Writing this complex and well crafted doesn’t seem to match that book end close but we’ll see. Obviously, you know the answers so that will be interesting for you to listen to.

Can I just say… It’s so bloody cool having Andor and Mon in the same scene too! Back-to-back episodes of big characters coming together on screen. More of that please.

Next time: Andor Season 2, Episode 10 is "Make It Stop!

I don’t like the sound that title, I’m already nail biting!

P.S. I know Andor is part of the Rebellion before anyone miss reads my comment in the intro.

Makes me sad knowing we only have 3 episodes left of Andor after this. I’ve loved rewatching the series with your insight, it’s let me see the show through an entirely new lens.

One of my favourite episodes of the series. That speech hits real hard, especially so when the episode first aired due to real world events and leaders... Name dropping the Emperor in the middle of capital on live TV during your speech dragging him through the mud takes some huge balls though. The guy on Yavin that claims the blaster is Melshi, the guy Cassian escaped the prison with. Just showing how the Rebellion is coming together more and more.

I'm with you kai. Andor was the only show where I enjoyed watching the 'previously on' segments. Mark of a fantastic show.

The night is Dank and full of Memers

From the moment Andor says "I have friends everywhere" to Erskin, the soundtrack goes full Jason Bourne, which I love because Tony Gilroy wrote the Bourne trilogy, and this mission + music feels very akin to the Waterloo Station sequence from Ultimatum

The night is Dank and full of Memers

The blaster was Syrils Corporate issue blaster that Andor stole in season 1 episode 3. After the prison break, he gave to his friend. That is who you see at the end of the episode. Vel saw Andor have it on Aldani so she recognized it.

Kai the guy who claims the blaster was the other prisoner Cassian escapes the prison with in season 1. Melshi.

Rogue One is extremely overrated, the writing quality(espeically dialogue) drop will hit you like a truck coming off Andor. 3rd act has fun action but the film has paper thin characters and the lead is boring af.

LaurenAnne

Yes, you will see Bix again.

The best part about andor is it fully fleshes out characters and plot points from Rogue one. Because Tony gilroy came in to fix the script, he couldn't really make everything work on the first go around in Rogue One, so more plot points and characterization works out better having seen Andor going into Rogue One. And all of your post watch questions will be answered in the following episodes, so keep watching!

One thing to notice, Agent Yun(?), Luthens inside man in the ISB is one of the big reasons why the ISB failed in stopping Mon Mothma, he’s the reason why the ISB put a sloppy agent on Bails team whereas if it was a good one they would’ve most likely succeeded

In the end you´ll see a small montage of the important characters of the show, but not gonna say more then that. The "Welcome to the Rebellion" Title is actually for both Mon and Andor. For Mon because she finally arrives to what she started to fund so many years ago. Her moving from Coruscant to Yavin and making her speech can actually be seen in an episode of the anime series "Star Wars Rebels". And for Andor it is his final pledge so to speak, because everything else he loved has left him. It is his final step for a full Rebellion commitment. I am so eager to watch your reaction to the next episode, which is my favourite btw. There is one shot I kinda have the feeling will get your attention, because it is so unusal.

In the scene, where Luthen reveals to Mon that Bail's team is compromised, he is wearing his "Meeting with Lonni Jung" outfit. So he most probably came straight from meeting him. Question is: Would there always be a plant and Luthen knew about it thanks to Lonni (and Lonni make sure that it is a noobie on the team)? Or did Luthen and Lonni created the plant to make sure Luthen is in control of the extraction of Mon?

Arathir

The gold squadron that is bringing Mon to Yavin and the new speech she recorded on board of their ship is directly shown in the animated series Star Wars Rebels. (SE3 EP18 Secret Cargo)

Senza Nome

Wow I never noticed Luthen was wearing his secret meeting outfit. And yeah with Luthen there's no way of knowing for sure and I love it

Chris.N7

The soundtrack too... awful.

Just so you know, the year denotations (BBY 5, 4, 3, 2, 1) are not 'years before the battle of yavin' it is referring to the fact that whatever events take place are happening in x year before the battle of yavin. For example, BBY 1 does not mean 1 year before the battle of yavin, it tells us that the events shown happen within the time period from one year before up until the battle of yavin. Another way to think of it is like this: for the analogy, lets say the battle of yavin takes place on December 1st 2000. Something would be referred to as happening in BBY 1 if it happened from December 1st 1999 up until December 1st 2000. Hopefully that makes it easier to understand, its a bit hard to explain.

That's amazing during the chase when they're spiraling down the stairs, you said you could see when the cgi kicks in. That's actually part of the architecture, it's real. I mentioned they use real locations in the later seasons. The pool courtyards for the senate building are real, some isp building spots are. Maybe some cgi embellishments but it's still neat. 🤙

Chris Bradford

Vel recognized the blaster Andor used during their Aldani heist

Arathir

It's super neat. It's apparently The City of Arts and Sciences, Valencia, Spain if you'd like to have a look at the real location.

24:40 Hahaha, it works beautifully. I don't think Mon Mothma would agree though, as it was also a veiled threat when Luthen repeated it. x)
