After years and years of avoiding this movie… Today I watched a piece of moviemaking history for the VERY FIRST TIME! This was utterly brilliant and I had so much fun with it, even pooped myself at one point. Some would also say I was left … inspired!

The reason for this is it’s exactly what I grew up with, shot in camera, working with what you got and forcing you, me - (the viewer) to use our imagination.

LOVE THAT and LOVE THIS! You can see why this movie has stood the test of time.

I can’t remember off the top of my head if this is our very first Spielberg film on the channel but my goodness, if it is… what a way to kickstart that boy’s movies off.

What should our next Spielberg movie be do you reckon!? Let me know your thoughts below.

Play The Biting Tape!

P.S. What do you think of the thumbnail!? I mentioned in one of my last posts that I’m working with a thumbnail chap, you know supporting a fellow artist. I wanted to see if it could bring some more colour, fresh energy and fun to the channel.

If you prefer the normal thumbnails, don’t worry they will be there because I can’t afford a thumbnail for every video.

I just wanted to test it out as I like to try things, support artists and help grow in different areas.

YEEEEESSSS, I've been so exited for this one👏🤩

Do the Jurassic Park films, not sure if he did all of them but i know he did the first

Is this an AI gen thumbnail, or did you get someone else to make it? I tend to prefer handmade art over AI generated content. AI gens have a habit of stealing from artists.

Can't wait to watch. Gotta admit, the feel of these new thumbnails doesn't excite me personally. Fair play to you - I read your explanation of the channel banner and such, but the AI vibe to them does put me, specifically, off.

It's a guy who I pay for. Like I mention in the post, I like support other creatives with their chosen skillset. If it wasn't someone making it, I'd stick with the ones I make.

Zoozee

I already am🤩

I've told the chap I'm testing them currently so if they don't work for the channel (YT), I'll stick with my OG style.

Perfect, something for me to sink my teeth into later! Pun aside, loving the thumbnail. Pretty much sums up how I think I looked during this recent heatwave, haha

Joe Crammond

it is amazing but i think you're gonna need a bigger raft lol

I'm disappointed you didn't go out in the ocean and fought off a great white shark to the death for the thumbnail, but this thumbnail will do i suppose. Looking forward to watching this when I get home! (I like the thumbnail btw)

Just bare in mind that AI is trained on this type of thumbnail/advertising whatever you want to call it, so you might find that a lot of thumbnails look like AI when they're 100% human made.

I think the thumbnail is hilarious. Definitely more attention grabbing, I think it will end up in more views.

Love the thumb nail. Since you mentioned hellraiser will you cover them or the new game which is about to come out? Which is to be very very very graphic in all things. Also another reason why so much of the shark is cut, is because they could not get the thing to work right. They had so many technical issues and i can't remember who, might have been Spielberg or the editor, but with the technical problems of the shark they thought it looked very derpy so they choose to use it sparingly. Also you can defo see where Takashi Yamazaki got his inspiration for godzilla minus 1 from, I also love that Jaws is one of his favourite films and Godzilla minus 1 is one of spielbergs favourite films. Other good shark films are Jaws 2 which is a really good sequel. The Shallows and Deep blue sea. There is the MEG but that is more an action comedy popcorn flick

Spielberg is definitely an interesting guy. Allegedly he didn't have a great time with the film due to complications. It was completed well overdue, I think due to the technology namely the big mechanical shark! Quite groundbreaking. He was also quite idiolistic back then and flat out refused to get involved in the sequels citing them as a vain attempt to make more money. Then idiana Jones and jurassic park released and I guess due to the success he did do the sequels. Money can persuade you to change your beliefs I suppose!

Amazing film, amazing reaction. Ty.

That scene with the E.T. in the sky was some sort of comet that appeared by sheer luck

SHARKEY AND GEORGE hahaha The crime-busters of the sea 😁 Love this film, Ben Gardner's noggin has been filling pants with poo for 51 years haha! The tension between the three dudes on the boat for the finale was mostly legit: there was genuine animosity on set between Robert Shaw (Quint) and Richard Dreyfuss (Hooper) as Shaw was an infamous pisshead and was half-cut most of the time, ripping the piss out of Dreyfuss. For the USS Indianapolis speech, all three actors were trollied. Spielberg was happy with the initial shot but Shaw, feeling that he could do better, asked the next morning if he could do it again sober. That is the cut on the film and it's a fucking good one that's stayed with me for at least 30 years. I do like Robert Shaw; he was a great Bond villian and The Sting is another impressive film. Alas, like Oliver Reed, his sauce habit saw him into an early grave and the entertainment world is worse off for it. 😢 (PS - I know that Reed wasn't that young when he died and Gladiator is a phenominal epitaph but if he had behaved he'd still have more years left in him, most likely!)

don't watch sequels - they are trash unfortunately. Clearly the magic of this storytelling didnt come to these at all and I am not surprised

Alex Boev

Also regarding "less is more" - the cute part is that an initial reason for the film to go in that direction was that "Bruce" (animatronic shark) happened to be too fragile and broken all the time so the team had to pivot. Beauty of turning the failure into huge success!

These new thumbnails look very AI

Kai Zammit - Filmmaker Reacts

Probably due to the high contrast. I remember doing the face so I know that's me. I like this lads style, I say lad. He could be older than me 😂, who knows.
