So here we are… I said that when I return from Kos and Gamescom I’ll return with a vengeance. This Friday I've booked a 5-hour slot for this monster!

The extended edition of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King runs for 4 hours and 50 minutes (250 minutes total), adding 50 minutes of new and extended scenes not seen in theatres. EXCITING!!!!!

I’ve been very excited to finish this epic journey together but it was important for me to watch it in one sitting. I didn’t want to do it over a series of days etc. I want that magic that this movie is going to bring. The others had it so of course, this must also have it. I feel like a kid before an exciting event.

It’s also a personal test because as you’ve probably already guessed, I have ADHD, not medicated and sitting anywhere for a period of time is very difficult for me. Don’t worry, it won’t take away the pleasure of this movie or anything like that.

Think of it as a test for this movie. Any piece of media can be a length of time but does it feel like it? I’ve mentioned before with my clients and what feature Directors do with test audiences.

Will this movie have me rushing up Mount Doom [I had to google this] or have my head in a crushing vice under the boot of an Orc!?!?! Guess we’ll have to see together won’t we!

Bring it on and LET’S F’N GO!

They best one of the 3 can’t wait to watch this reaction. This movie is amazing!!

Zoozee

Omg, I would love to pick your brain about the no medicin. How the fuck do you do that with a family life that has to function🤯? I barely function and I'm on max dose🙈 "Hey look a squirrel" and I'm looking forward to your reactions to Lord of the rings🤩

As a sidebar Kai, I'd love to see your reaction to the behind the scenes of these movies and hear you talk through the various techniques

NinjaLantern53

You're in for an absolute treat! Enjoy! :D

Kai Zammit - Filmmaker Reacts

Please pick away. I'm actually scheduled to start meds soon but I didn't even know I had ADHD. I only got tested to help with my daughter. History etc and why she is like she is. I just thought I was normal and to be honest, I like being how I am. An outright nutter but I hear I'm hard to live with 😂🤔.

I remember when I watched this movie, it was on DVD and it came in 2 CDs, and it wasnt even the extended version. And I never realized how long the movie actually was.

Sundays workplace entertainment sorted!

Kai Zammit - Filmmaker Reacts

Sadly it won't be ready for this Sunday, my editor doesn't work on Weekends so it will be next week. Probably Wednesday as that's normally my movie day.

BaconJets

Workplace entertainment sorted for some time next week either way!

They were on the bonus discs of the special editions physically but I'm fairly sure they're all up on YouTube!

NICE!!! I have just finished watching the first 2 and was about to ask when we're you planning to finish it off. Can't wait to round out the trilogy with you! 🙌🏻

Zoozee

I was also diagnosed as an adult, at 28 years i think. Well I was gonna ask how you've survived running at full steam all of your life without damaging your body or your brain and if you had any advice on how to manage an overloaded brain? But I guess it's kinda personal stuff to answer in a general chat huh?🙈 but what do I know, I have no filter, lol. I do however hope that everything is going well for your daughter(s). And hat's off to your wife, if you are indeed hard to live with. (God knows I was... At least that's what my ex husband says🤣)

GET IN!.. make sure you have a comfy cushion on your seat!! i remember watch the extended edition in the cinema.. First film i watched in cinema that had a short interval so people could stretch their legs and trying to get rid of the pins n needles in your bum! Me and my uni mates, did a Lord of the rings marrathon one weekend, we where all very hung over and decided to make the day easier we watched all 3 extended versions back to back.

NinjaLantern53

Absolutely, time for the annual re watch anyway as we get into Autumn/Winter! 👊

Movies like this and Ridley Scott’s kingdom of heaven are better with the long directors cuts vs theatrical versions. Doesn’t ever feel like they drag along, all the content is valuable.

bethannie

also unmedicated here and can say with 100% honesty that i have sat through this film in 1 go more times that i can count because it’s just that riveting.

Zoozee

Thanks, that sweet of you to say🙏 And speaking as the old millennial mom I am....please take care of that brain of yours because it is freaking awesome and I don't think I'm the only one following you, who thinks so😉

Josh
