Oh my… Mr Sam Raimi… that operating theatre scene… I felt an erection coming on! It was amazing but… WHY!?!? What was he doing here to make that scene absolutely rock? Rock so hard, my undergarments fell loose!

I’m hoping when we watch it together, you’re going through the check list in your mind palace and spotting the techniques applied here. In the voice of Shao Kahn… OUTSTANDING!

This movie is so much better than I initially thought or remember for that matter. Like I mention in the post review watch, this is one of those gems that the filmmaking knowledge doesn’t become a curse but a gift! However, it did make me not love a certain scene as much because we can see the issues with it. Saying that, maybe they are a me thing!? Let me know what you think.

CinemaScope [2.39:1] Spider-Man or Flat [1.85:1] Spider-Man… What do you prefer and did you even notice until I mentioned it?

I really felt Sam Raimi came into his own with the superhero genre. Knowledge learnt; difficulties overcome thanks to Spider-Man 2002. Also switching out the DPs too!

Different Visual Styles: Don Burgess [Spider-Man 2002] is known for a more naturalistic, earthy, and subdued photographic style. I mention this! Bill Pope [Spider-Man 2] brought a much richer, highly stylized, and saturated colour palette [except that one scene], that leaned heavily into a dynamic comic-book aesthetic.

Spiderman 2. The best superhero film ever made. It really is a masterpiece. Tobey is still the best Spiderman. They kept trying to change him a bit after the Raimi films and they kept getting him wrong. The struggle of real life being made so much more difficult by living his life as a hero, and him still doing what's right in spite of the personal cost is why Spiderman is Marvel's most recognized and beloved character. The third film was messed up by Sony themselves. They forced Raimi to shoehorn in Venom. We ended up with 3 villains and it was too bloated. If you ignore everything you know outside of Tobey's films, the narrative makes sense, but it's wildly different from the comics and people hated it. I still like the film, in spite of its' flaws.

Evil Dead reaction would be brilliant!

Might be my favorite super hero movie of all time, it’s just such a good watch.

Hearing that theme always makes me teary-eyed, if there's one thing I want to hear live it's that theme. Music, man, it's like one note and all those memories and feelings come flooding back like it was yesterday.

Haven’t watched yet but man this is truly one of the best superhero movies ever, I still think it’s definitively the best Spider-Man movie. Peter just loses over and over and over throughout the whole movie but he still gets back up and dusts himself off and starts to believe in himself and his strength. So damn powerful

Kai, your jokes are making me hurt from laughing man😂 Unhinged comedy is great comedy! Love all your videos as always😂❤️

I remember when I was younger I liked spiderman 3 better than this one because of the action, I hated the idea of spiderman losing his powers but now that Im older I like this film better🤣🤷‍♂️ can't explain it

This is the best spiderman live action film in history. Nothing will top this movie in terms of storytelling. This wasn't a spiderman movie, it was a Peter Parker movie. Spiderman doesnt solve every problem in this film, Peter did. Spiderman didn't get the girl, Peter did. Spiderman didn't save the city/defeat doc ock, Peter did. I think thats the reason why this film is so loved because it felt more human than superhero.

WermalNihl27

Jesus Christ 😂😂😂 James Franco's School of Touchin'

"I can't get my mind out the gutter" dude you're such a frustrated teenager 😂

God i love this movie. It is without a doubt inn my top 3 of all time. It is such a massive part of my childhood, and it still holds up incredible. One thing you commented on that i disagree with is the peter and aunt may scene where they werent perfect on the composition. I think that makes it somehow even more emotional? Its like watching a "real" scene and not a movie scene. Especially when its only during those heavy emotional scenes... god what a tear puller. Also a massive fucking Kudos too the actor of aunt may. holy shit what an actor. i never realized cause she makes it so fucking natural. She is the "aunt"/grandma too everyone who watched this movie. Thanks for another glorious reaction

Spoder

Also, i would absolutely love it if: when you are critiquing a scene, please pull that scene up so we can see exactly what you are critiquing. when you comment on a scene without showing it, it makes it quite hard/disconnected too view it (inn my opinion)

Kai Zammit - Filmmaker Reacts

In the post review watch? The reason I don't is because of copyright on YouTube but I do always mention what scene I'm unhappy about. I'll never go full in-depth because I can't show it on screen again because of copyright. It would make my editor have a heart attack trying to clear it. It also allows you the viewer to strike up a conversation with me where I can talk more about it.

Spoder

yeah nah thats fair. only way too solve that would be too make an even more "seperate" video for patreon. but i know that would be unrealistic i only mentioned it because it would highlight the scene more and make it more understandable for people who are new too film-making. Other than that, i cannot wait for the spider-man 3 reaction

Kai Zammit - Filmmaker Reacts

Truth be told I actually went to do this on another video this week, I started it and then stopped it and told my editor to leave it out. It would never clear YouTube. This is why I have a guy in the UK for Patreon and all my videos for YouTube (movie side) are edited in India. Clearing for all cases.

Fun behind the scenes facts: - Every Sam Raimi films have Bruce Campbell (The theatre doorman with a conceptual but never finished thought about making him Myterio down the line) and that beige uncle Ben's car in EVERY movie he makes, like his own Stan lee cameo before the time. Look for them now that you know about them from now on (a bit late). - Most if not all CGI effects that were made in this film were done using Blender, an open-source and free alternative to back then the 3DS Max and Maya of the industry.

Once again, GREAT reaction and breakdown. Love your work. Once again, MJ being a terrible love interest and a terrible girlfriend as usual 🤣 She’s the weakest element of this trilogy

WermalNihl27

Finally finished this one - you were definitely Jay Cartwright in a previous life all the disgusting shit you come out with 🤣 great breakdown once again mate and love the entertainment
