Alex Anderson

Does Scorcese put "It's just a Shot Away" by the Stones in every movie? Lol

Ty

Great flick! Love me some Bostonian English!

Grumpy Monk

A classic Easter movie lol. Good choice, I look forward to it.

Mr. Writhms

One of the best movies about "carps" and robbers!

Chris Carman

Essential Scorsese. Seeing it in the theater was great.

Ty

"We grew up tuhgethah" ☘️

Jeffrey Roberts

This movie is great. One of the best cop/crime movies out there, in my opinion. Scorsese finally got his Oscar for this film. Leo would have to wait another few years though. 😁 The twist with the elevator scene was fantastic but heart-wrenching. That scene shocked everyone who saw this. Ivy, I understand your frustration at the end, but at least Colin got what he was due, and I am glad that it was Dingham who take care of it. Retribution for his boss, at least. Unfortunately, there is a lot of corruption in police departments and other law enforcement agencies. While this movie is fiction, there are some elements of truth to it.

Steven

I really love this film, but every time I see Mark Wahlberg I can't help but think where is TED.

Johnny Sondergard

Dignam shoots Sullivan and avenging both Queenan and Costigan

SM

Another great Jack Nicholson movie is 'As Good as It Gets' (1997)

Tron

Leonardo deserved a Oscar for this lol Katie would’ve liked this one

mundanelotus

Wow I have to thank you girls for motivating me to watch this movie because it was amazing! Loved seeing your reaction as well

Jay Wolfe

I hate to say this but I think it's time for you girls to watch "Boogie Nights" with Mark Wahlberg

Dajefe70

Yup. I love how Martin Scorsese is so similar to Shakespeare in terms of tragedies.

Steven

Vera Farmiga plays the Therapist and girlfriend to both main characters :) She has really become a horror movie icon. You should definitely watch ORPHAN and THE CONJURING.

Daryl 👽

It's called the Departed. It's about the deceased, girls 🤣

Daryl 👽

I second this! A great comedy drama with Helen Hunt from Twister. And Jack Nicholson! As Good As It Gets (1997)

Chris Carman

THANK YOU! (I got no hate for someone sayin' that whatsoever...)

tullius cicero

SO GOOD lmao! I KNEW BILLYS DEATH WOULD BE TOUGH

Brandon

Great movie for sure. Now that you've seen this movie and the ending, you can talk for hours about what the ending means exactly.

Henry N.

a One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest reaction is due

Snick

Its Dignam who was the second in command and who knew about Leo's undercover identity killed Matt Damon's character in the end. Plus it was a revenge for his boss who was thrown off the roof.

Henry N.

One of the greatest films ever made. Might be kind of shocking for them though. Maybe throw in There Will Be Blood if they're reacting to PTA (I havent' seen TWBB in over a decade)

David Collins

Another great undercover cop movie is "Donnie Brasco" with Johnny Depp and Al Pacino. You guys'll love it! Also, based on a true story.

Joe Laster

I gotta be honest. I don’t think that Ivy makes a great addition. “Yeah” “Okay” “Wow”

CrashTestWalrus

Pretty girl, but she struggles to express herself in English. No harm in keeping her though, worst case scenario is just Chi and Hella as usual

Digitalversager

Great movie but I don't like the ending. It shows again how a small plot twist can change everything. I think Colin wanted to break out of his role. If Billy had stayed in the office and pretended he hadn't seen the envelope, he would have regained his identity and gone on his way. Things only escalated when he disappeared and Colin knew that he had seen through him. Of course it's easier said than done, Billy had every reason to distrust Colin and so it all took its course. But I still can't shake the thought that Colin wanted to leave his real life behind in the end and make his cover his real life. By the way, the movie you saw with Jack Nicholson was The Shining. I would like to take this opportunity to mention again that we haven't had any horror movie reactions in a long time. Maybe it's time for a bit of scary stuff again. The American versions of The Ring (2002) and The Grudge (2004) would be perfect for that.😅 That was an awesome reaction, ladies, as always!💜 Happy Easter everyone!🥚🐰🙂

Jay Wolfe

Boondock Saints movie is another good movie

Fff

The Departed is a remake.

Duncan

Americans being Irish always feels a bit ‘cringe’, for me. Not a bad tune though. [edit] Cosplay. Irish cosplay. That’s what it is. Shamrock sticker and a green hat, pint of Guinness even though one don’t like it. Etc. ❤️

Duncan

“Do you think the music is taking something away from my vocals…..?” 😂

Duncan

There’s so much going on in this movie. It’s so much better than how I remembered it 🙂 I’ll have to leave a full comment on what I think about this movie. Thanks, Munchies! (Hella’s unintentional comedic reactions were hilarious as always).

Duncan

Infernal Affairs, yes. It’s a well known movie 🙂❤️

Duncan

All the Nicholsons 🙂👍🏻

Duncan

This comment, and the responses to it, are as rude as unfortunately usual. Probably should be more respectful.

CrashTestWalrus

Wrong, Duncan. OP is not rude at all just a paying customer, like everybody else in here, and provides feedback. If you like these girls and want them to succeed you should appreciate some criticism every now and then, it's more valuable than constantly showering them with praise

Duncan

Thanks. But I’m right. Apologies for saying that I am. And I absolutely agree with constructive criticism. It’s important. Context is, encouragement would be much more beneficial 👍🏻 (I’ve worked with one startup company and the key is confidence and belief) 👍🏻 🙂

Grumpy Monk

Good job ladies! I think you are movie experts now. I'm glad that you recognized many of the actors. You've also seen Mark Wahlberg in Ted and Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now. (Don't ask about Alec Baldwin). I recommend "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood". It has Leo Decaprio and Brad Pitt and is directed by Tarantino. It's a movie about making movies in the 1960s. I think you would find it interesting.

CrashTestWalrus

I'm not gonna call anyone who doesn't simply encourage rude or out of line, and if they truly are they'll probably get banned

Joe Laster

If “Doesn’t make a great addition” is your bar for rude behavior… I’ve got news for you, sweetheart…

Duncan

I agree that this makes no sense. But you’re lovely.

Henry N.

Boston is the most Irish city in the world outside of Ireland. I grew around up there and it's quite Irish lol

Henry N.

lmao give the girl a chance... She's been in like two episodes. Go back to the early days of this channel, Hella was much quieter.

Duncan

Liverpool and Glasgow just asked for a mention 🙂 ❤️

Duncan

You clearly are a firm and harsh reviewer and I’m sure the people you review will take note and adjust their personalities for your benefit. Best of luck 🙂

CrashTestWalrus

Good point, Henry N., credit to W up above as well. What's an early Hella reaction, I'm interested now?

Joe Laster

Her first reaction is “The Shining” and, as you will see if you go back and watch, Hella says more in the first 30 seconds than Ivy says in an entire movie lol

CrashTestWalrus

I've seen it, so Hella was her usual self from the start. Although a bad example the 'insecure newcomer' point is still valid since people are different

Henry N.

She was not nearly as outgoing as she is now. I didn't say she was mute. The point is, as people get more comfortable, either in front of a camera, in a new social setting, with a new friend group, they become more outgoing. (maybe I can relate because I'm a pretty shy person until I get to know people, and then I become very talktative) However, it seems like the above poster has already made up his mind about this person, which is a bit strange imo. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't really feel like arguing about something this trivial anymore...so w/e

Jeremy Sparks

Dignam was there because she gave him the letter from Bill.

httruong

This movie is a remake from the HK movie 'Infernal affairs' starring Andy Lau and Tony Leung. If you liked that movie, you may be interested in watching 'Infernal affairs' and IA got a part 2 and a part 3, one is a sequel to IA, the other is a prequel. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338564/

Ryan92280

Glad you got the time to watching one of my favorite movies from the first decade of the 2000s. It's fun watching for the reactions when you know what's coming. Great job! Recommendation: Road to Perdition (2002). Doesn't get much attention these days but I think it's worth you all seeing it.

f w

You've also seen movies with Martin Sheen, Captain Queenan, is Hank Pym from Ant Man and Captain Willard in Apocalypse Now. Amazingly this the first Mark Wahlberg I've seen y'all react to, but he also is a big movie star. Obligatory requests for Passion of the Christ(directed by Mel Gibson), Interview with a Vampire(stars Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise), and Wedding Crashers.

Marc Rkatek

No...Michael Douglas plays Hank Pym. You are mistaken.

f w

You're right. Still was in apocalypse now, so you know 1/2 right. I think I got confused cause he was uncle ben in asm.

RichieBIV

This movie isn’t a true story, but it’s based on real people. Jack Nicholson's character is loosely based on Whitey Bulger, a gangster who was an informant for the FBI, usually informing on his competition. Regarding Mark Wahlberg/Dignam, he likely got the evidence from Vera Farmiga/Psychiatrist via Leonardo DiCaprio/Billy, but he wasn't the type to arrest Matt Damon/Colin, who basically killed Martin Sheen/Queenan. He was the kind of guy who would break into your home and wait for you while wearing gloves and foot covers. Another note: Mark Wahlberg/Dignam had resigned, so he wasn't a cop anymore. But yes, he could have turned that in to get him arrested, but what's the fun in that?🍿😄📺

Chris Rouse

I’m so glad you watched this movie, girls! You’re so fun, it was like getting to see the movie again with beloved friends!

Duncan

Watched it again tonight. Great movie. So stressful, yet also so completely satisfying. Scorsese opening up with The Stones is just so completely typical 🙂

Andres Spivey

Seeing their reactions to the craziness of the last 10 minutes was sooooo hilarious
