The Karate Kid Reaction

Watch "The Karate Kid Reaction" on Streamable.

Matthew Maxon

There can be an argument made that Daniel is the antagonist & not the Protagonist. Johnny is not exactly a good guy but Daniel sucker punched him & then poured the water on him in the bathroom while he was rolling up a joint. I'm just saying here ..

Matthew Maxon

I will enjoy watching your reactions when I get home

PapaXan

Yeah, and what about that kick to the face at the end? That wasn't a legal hit at all. #JusticeForJohnny

Johnny Sondergard

We rented this one on VHS cassette when it was released. 😊will watch your reaction now 👍😊😊

Chris Carman

You're the best around Nothing's gonna ever keep you down

Jay Wolfe

Wax on wax off!!!

S_Vive

For many years now I no longer think of Karate Kid for this song but instead am always reminded of that IASIP 2nd season episode "Hundred Dollar Baby".

Milvo

Ah special movie of my childhood. I remember seeing it in theatres, the crowd cheered at the end, it was touching.

Christopher Young

This is the most excited I"ve the 'Movie Munchies' crew over a movie. reaction. I think you would really also enjoy the movie 'A knight's Tale' based on your reaction to this movie.

Alex Anderson

Hopefully, you do the rest of the series. The beginning of Karate Kid II elaborates on the ending of the first one. There is also the series "Cobra Kai" that came out a few years ago that follows the original characters. I only watched 2 seasons of it but I hear it stays good throughout the rest of the seasons. I would watch it all the way through if the Movie Munchies watched it.

Johnny Sondergard

You girls should really watch "Kung Fu Panda" 😊it's a very warm martial arts movie ... Same atmosphere like this one 👍😊😊😊😊

SM

Hopefully Part 2 next week

Michael Lo

Best reaction so far! Great film. Great movie!

Francisco

I'm glad you enjoyed the film. This was the first movie my parents bought for me when I was a kid. Don't worry, it's not over. There is a part 2😁

Angrytoybox

As luck would have it, there is a part 2, my personal favorite, I am sure I will grief for saying that in the chat.😆

Omon Sisaphus

You want more, you say? Oh there's more alright. Karate Kid 2 and 3 are must watches. Karate Kid 3 is kind of looked down upon, but I think it's still great. Avoid The Next Karate Kid as it is the deserved black sheep of the franchise. The remake is also now a must see given the legacy sequel that will be coming out later this year. Once all the movies have been seen (except for Next Karate Kid and the upcoming legacy sequel) and Game of Thrones is finished, Cobra Kai NEEDS to be the next TV series on your list. In my personal opinion, Cobra Kai is the best part of the entire Karate Kid franchise, and that's saying a lot given how good most of the movies are.

Wayne

This had a massive cultural impact when I was a kid - everyone wanted to learn Karate :)

Jay Wolfe

Daniel-San and Mr. Miyagi save each other. One needed a dad the other one needed a son

Kyle

I second that! "A Knight's Tale" is a good one, and it has a little bit of everything in it. Something for everyone.

Kyle

I love how, in every movie ever, you can always tell who the bullies are the MOMENT they first appear on screen. 😂 The Munchies called it immediately.

Looney

I hope you ladies watch part 2. I love it more than the first one.

Steven

Cobra Kai really is a great and uplifting series.

King Bob

i think all 3 movies are good

King Bob

It is a good TV show I enjoyed it, and it leans heavily on nostalgia.

Steven

I'm glad you ladies liked this one so much. I really think after watching this reaction you would really enjoy the ROCKY films. Someone already mentioned the Cobra Kai TV series, but I was really surprised how good it was. It follows the story of Johnny Lawrence and how he became a bit of a screw up after losing to Daniel. At the beginning of the movie, Chi asked if that was "soil or rock". It's rock, mostly. That's just the way the South West United states looks. A lot of that area is desert. That part of the United States has some areas that are uninhabited. Only lizards and weird plants live there. The scene about Mr. Miyagi's wife is even sadder if you know a bit about American history. From 1942-1946 the Japanese people who lived in the United States were put in camps because during World War 2 the Americans were in a war with Japan. Our government at the time, feared that the Japanese living here would attack or be spies. So, they got put in camps even though they did nothing wrong. Some Japanese men were sent/volunteered to fight the Germans while their families were in these camps, so Mr. Miyagi's wife would have been in one of those camps and that's why she didn't get the medical attention that she needed.

King Bob

well obviously it continues to part 2 and 3

Steven

Also, this thumbnail makes it look like Katie finds Hela's pain quite amusing.

Patrick

Finish him! Hahah. Great reaction. Through time and space, all humanoids need a a Mr. Miyagi. Much love, great content.

KD

Chi: "I don't like this scene he went too far." Chi 1 minute later : "BREAK HIS NECK!!!"

Oliver

I might be the only American on Earth who doesn't like this movie, but it was a great reaction as always.

Proto Type

" We need a house to learn ! " ~ Hella :D

JessDMorgan

damn, we want MORE !! ... Part 2 and 3 and than the awesome Cobra Kai Series :D ...

JessDMorgan

and the Cobra Kai Series ...

Snick

I think the movie which you should consider watching is Rocky if you loved this one. You won’t be disappointed.

Jonathan Kidman

what a fun reaction! considering how much you enjoyed this you should consider doing Part II and Part III and whenever you have time for a new TV show 'Cobra Kai' which follows the karate kid storyline 30+ years later is worth it

Manospondylus

Ohhh Mr. Miyagi is so freaking cool.

Henry N.

I believe the director of this film directed Rocky, which I would highly recommend.

tommy23

I wonder if you have done Rocky yet? It's an American classic I hope you'll get to soon.

Dylan Hamilton

Looks like Hela is ready to accomplish anything now! lol

Judd Osborne

That Bmx bicycle he rides, if you can find one for sale, is worth over $5,000 today

Dualin

I love watching a good movie but watching you ladies react to it makes it so much better, thank you

Pinitchio

It was so fun watching your reactions for this film, you three! You were so excited and it made me excited 😀😀😀. This is one of those 80's classics. Another film you 3 may enjoy is 'Leaving Las Vegas ' (1995). It's one of Elisabeth Shue's best roles. She played 'Ali' in this film.

S_Vive

#2 has always been mine as well.

chris johnson

Can’t wait to watch this one 😎

Hurrakan

I hope you will continue with The Karate Kid 2 and The Karate Kid 3 and then the Cobra Kai series. By the way Ralph Macchio (Daniel) is actually four years older than William Zabka (Johnny)

Daniel Anderson

2010 is a "childhood movie". God that made me feel old...

MAFAL

my favorite reaction to this movie! please continue the Karate Kid series and Cobra Kai!

Truss

I mean, Chi DID beg for MORE!

DemonChris21

There are actually four parts of Karate Kid although 4th movie called The Next Karate Kid doesn't have much connection with 1,2,3 but it's still good. Karate Kid from 2010 featuring Jaden Smith (Will Smith's son) and Jackie Chan as "Miyagi" is kind of reboot of the classic Karate Kid. I recommend watching them all if you liked part 1 ☺️ Karate Kid franchise was one if my favorite childhood movies along with Back to the Future

Trajic

Yeah they have a continuation of this in a series called Cobra Kai, that follows up on the characters a bit, with a fun twist. If you like these classics, I'd recommend the following: The Goonies, The Labyrinth, Rudy, Spider-Man 1 and 2 directed by Sam Raimi, The Highlander, and Rocky.

NmixxStan

please watch the other karate kid movies (2 and 3) and also there is a show called cobra kai which is a continuation of this series

RichieBIV

Definitely feeling kinda old since this one was my "childhood movie." It is the original that spawned all the other Karate Kid movies, and I think this would have to be the most popular version of "The Karate Kid". Ralph Macchio, by the way, was in "My Cousin Vinny." Also, side note: this movie reminded me you all should watch "The Outsiders," a classic with a host of stars in it(young), plus it's a Francis Ford Coppola movie.

Troy Runyan

I love this movie! It would be awesome if you guys react to part 2 and 3. Pat Morita is the actor who played Mr. Myagi. He used to do comedy roles tv shows and movies. Karate Kid was the first time he's even done a drama role. He was a good actor god rest his soul.

Jay Perry

I wish you would watch the other Karate Kid movies from this series, and Cobra Kai the series.

JessDMorgan

more more more... pretty plz

JessDMorgan

i see they wouldnt do another series but when GoT is over perhaps... Cobra Kai is only 25-30 minutes per episode and its still the very best soft reboot of an old school franchise EVER.

Proto Type

I'm in the same boat with GoT reactions hahaha, but I know it's just me. Everyone I know loves it /facepalm

JessDMorgan

its so sad. I know they would like Part 2 and 3 and the Cobra Kai Series.... i hope someday we will get it.
