Luh Beef

Let's not start doing Bollywood movies, ok?

Red Spengler

A country that has exceptional films is Russia. Both during the Soviet Union and after. Come and See is a DARK film about WW2, and Solaris (1972) is one of the best Science Fiction films ever. Stalker is one of the best films I've ever seen. Just some recommendations.

GBprime

It's always a joy seeing chi Ivy and Katie do a reaction together you ladies look lovely like I'm definitely going enjoy this movie reaction and of course movie munchies continue the awesome work like always

Snick

I think munchies are trying to expand. It’s definitely worth a shot to attract variety of audiences. Even some Korean movies such as Parasite or Memories of Murder are insanely good. I think Chi would love Memories of Murder as it’s based on a true story. It’s similar to Zodiac but better. Maybe Yuna can watch some old classics like Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai (Japanese) , Fritz Lang’s M (German) , Bicycle Thieves , 12 Angry Men , Hitchcock’s Dial M for Murder.

Stefan Williams

This is one of the only decent Bollywood movies that did well in the West. Please dont think that all the other Bollywood movies do well, and start a Bollywood movie watch series. Please stop at this one. Western audiences dont really dig Bollywood. Thanks girls!

Oliver

Exactly. Please, god, let this be a one off thing.

Rick Santos

we are thrilled that u did this one !!!!

Andrew

I'll take this opportunity to recommend the movie "The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi" (2003). A very Japanese story with some Bollywood flair.

King Bob

Bollywood movies generally aren't very popular internationally outside India and Pakistan. Mainstream Hindi films have frequently used recurring archetypes such as: -The strict but loving father who controls his daughter's or son's relationships. -The overprotective mother, often portrayed as the emotional centre of the family. -The wealthy, arrogant family versus the modest or poor family. -The "good" traditional woman contrasted with a more Westernised or rebellious woman. -The comic Punjabi character or other exaggerated regional stereotypes. -The foreign/Westernised Indian who eventually reconnects with traditional Indian values. -The arranged marriage versus love marriage conflict. -Exaggerated depictions of family honour, weddings and parental approval. Bollywood doesn't make films with a foreign audience in mind.... ..... India has an enormous domestic market. A Bollywood producer can potentially make a very successful film without needing to convince someone in Britain, France or Brazil to watch it. That creates a different economic incentive from Hollywood, where the international box office is extremely important to the economics of major production

Blackwargreymon00

Please also try some South korean horror and action movies 🙏

Mario

Lol @ comment section thinking the world revolves around US/Hollywood. Happy you’re doing different stuff, maybe some Korean or Chinese movies next?

Victor

What about Slumdog Millionaire

CrashTestWalrus

I remember all the praise when this movie came out. I didn't watch it back then and I don't know what to expect, but this is the perfect opportunity to give it a try

Alex Anderson

Haha....I watched an hour back when it came out. One hour and I couldn't continue it any longer...think it's 3 hrs long...

Alex Anderson

Who in the comment section is doing that?

Stefan Williams

If your audience is primarily Western, you will get western feedback. Nothing to do with USA or HOLLYWOOD. Western views span more than the USA.......

TylerNorCal

Hell yeah, this movie rules 😂

Luh Beef

Korean and Chinese cinema have produced countless fantastic examples of quality films. Bollywood/Indian cinema is trash.

Gam

Can ya'll react to these British production movies: 'Slumdog Millionaire' 2008 and 'Casino Royale' 2006

King Bob

Very true, I find them much easier to watch than Bollywood movies, at least. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is probably the most obvious one most people know.

Daryl 👽

Since we’re on the topic of India, I recommend another film based on a true story: Lion (2016) ☺️☺️☺️

John H

'Come and See' is an amazing movie, but it is a bummer. I second a watch of 'Solaris' and 'Stalker' though.

John H

Nice, cant wait to give this a watch in the morning. Hope we can see see some other good non-American movies on the channel.

John H

I guess its a good thing this isnt a Bollywood movie then.

Digitalversager

If someone had told me before I saw RRR that I’d end up liking a Tollywood movie, I would have said "never", but this film is simply awesome. Yes, it has all the typical Bollywood ingredients: an overdramatic story, over the top action sequences, and extravagant musical numbers to underscore key plot points. Yet, beneath all that lies a great story with a lot of heart, dealing with themes like friendship, duty, betrayal, and redemption. The chemistry between the two leads, N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan, is particularly fantastic. I like to describe the film as a sort of Indian version of Black Panther, but with a more substantial story. I also have to highlight the action scenes, some of which are absolutely ridiculous; they often defy all logic and give even the later Fast & Furious movies a run for their money.😅 Normally, I’d criticize that, as well as the CGI, which often looks cheap, but in this film, it actually fits in. The only thing I really can't get into are the musical numbers. I do like musicals, but in these films, they’re just too kitschy and over-the-top. My only real criticism is the pacing; three hours is simply too long, and the first act, in particular, drags a bit. I think that stops a lot of people from enjoying the movie. But I’d advise everyone to give it a chance, and, as people often say when someone criticizes older films here: be a bit more open-minded.😉 That said, even though I really like this movie, Bollywood films in general aren't really my thing. When it comes to foreign films I truly enjoy, I usually go for Asian horror; there are many hidden gems there that the general public has likely never discovered. If it’s not horror, I’m also a huge fan of Hong Kong cinema from the 80s and 90s, an era largely dominated by Jackie Chan. He made many excellent action-comedies with his trademark crazy stunts that, despite the slapstick, often also featured fantastic fight scenes. That was a great reaction, as always, ladies.💜

Stefan Williams

@King Bob Kung Fu Hustle for me. One of my all time favourites!

Luh Beef

@Stefan hell yes +1 for Kung Fu Hustle

Gerardo03

I recommend Life of Pi (2012).

Looney

That movie is awesome. In my opinion of course.

Andy

Don’t even bother, you can’t fix their ignorance.

Wayne

Andrei Rublev, 10/10.

TylerNorCal

Idk if they're ready for the GOAT Tarkovsky 😂

Armarbu

Yes, I highly recommend the film "Parasite". This film has received so many awards.

Luh Beef

Indian movie, is that clear enough for you?

Gaëtarrow

Hello Munchies! Is that a surprise if I say: I know nothing of it ? At first, I remembered a french comedy with the same kind of title! "RRRR...." a comedy in the time of the caveman😅. so when I heard the name last week, I was surprised and lost a little ! 🤣 But it's my first Bollywood's (or atleast Indian movie). let's see that! If you ask me, each time I heard about indian movies from others peoples, the same cliche come each times: Musical catchy with big dance group, fight that make no sense but visualy impressive and characters with the same archetype each time. Let's see if it's like that. For the movie Even Chi recognized the way colonizer are. No respect for the culture, they are superior (in their mind) and everything is for them. The great mutiny of 1857 and Ghandi's walk for peace and independance don't come from nowhere. But yes, they used Locals in their police and military forces. they were called "cipayes" (or "sepoy" depend on how you pronounce the word in fact) "Why don't you speak?" (at the bridge in flammes) I don't know the situation needed to be more tense ! 😂 "that's me and Ivy!" Yeah ! I remember the IG's video! 😂 We can think what we want of the musical in indian movies, but their dance and singin are catchy !! 😂😁 "protect Chi!" 😅 If the snake had cut the rope...I think I would have gone crazy! But the other guy didn't say there were no antitode? why Akhtar know one ?? 🤔 WOW...why when he fight at the party, I'm seeing Kratos from "God of war"'s video game with his chaos blade and the chains... but somehow, they find a way for kratos to be more realistic !!! 😅🤣🤣 the fighting is impressive. but come on, they are not human ! Even Chi called Him "Wolverine" and no one is that strong or survive such wound IRL... They are captain america wihout superserum but with the same strenght !! Euh... how can he still sing at the end of the torture? I have mixed feeling with this scene. Yes, I feel the pain. but hearing him sing like that... it feel too much. the gap between the singing and the scene is too big for me. If at some point, someone else would have sing or a narrator, OK. but here, it get me out of the scene, despite how good the performance is. But seriously, what is this women !!??? Even in GOT, we didn't had a women so sadistic! (as far as I know....which is not much. as I don't like GOT in first place...) "What the heck was that?" 🤣It look like a video game glitch! those who make you fly just by standing at one precise place! 🤣🤣 How can he still fight that good after all that torture ? "Impossible !!" clearly !!What did they put in my drink?🤣 😂weak and "gnawing at his chains" 😂😂 Smallpox is a very infectious disease. it's almost dissapear today. it bring fever, pain in the bones and skin rash. "It's impossible, but i enjoy this" I think that resume the movie pretty well !! 😅 Ok fire and water has another meaning in this last fight ! 😅 "such a good idea to have a grenade on the arrow" On the paper, yes...Irl, it will unbalance the arrow too much to shoot normaly. "you guy are gods now" clearly !! For the conclusion The best Bromance I saw ! 😂 As you said, beyond my imagination! The mix of musical and very tragic and honestly kinda hard stroy... is unhinged! On one side, we have Ram acting a double agent, having to kill his own people to be able one day to give them weapon (kinda messed up) and working for a governor and his wife who arre actual devils ! (very messed up too!) an with have his friend (Beem?? 'im lost with the name) who just want to save a child but is overall a good guy enjoying life but also extremely violent when fighting. and we put all of that with Musicals and fight that even DC and Marvel don't dare to make that ridiculous !!! 😂🤣🤣 yes, it's a fun movie. it's one for having an engaging story with good action and good vibes but still emotion at the same time. but in no way to take seriously for one second !! 😂😂 (and yes, hard to make it more manly than that 🤣) Never thought I' would enjoy an Indian movie. Thanks a lot for the discovery !! Have a beautifull day Mnuchies

Alex Anderson

Indian movies have also done blatant rip offs of South Korean films like Man From Nowhere and I Saw the Devil. I'm sure there are others.

Alex Anderson

Why not? Slumdog Millionaire is actually good.

Proto Type

Great choice, I found this a couple of years ago \m/

Nhia Vang

Never heard of this movie and will give it a no watch for me. I hope that at least you girls enjoy it maybe? Just curious what else is on your watch list?

Nhia Vang

India movie is a no go for me because it just not that interesting or good in my opinion. When people think of really good movies I'm sure they can't named one India movie or at least one that is very popular and successful. Hong Kong movies are very popular and has been around for decades and If anyone ask what are really good movies I can at least name a few Hong Kong movies that are very popular and successful.

Nhia Vang

Never heard of this one but I will just have to go with your statement.

alia

Humm, why? there are Excelent movies made in India. the best one is 3 idiots, and I hope the react to it.

Mark W

I like Sci Fi the most, so someone recommend that Solaris movie.

greg greagr

I'm not sure what to expect from Tarkovsky reactions either. But I think Solaris could be a cool one.

Lawrence

Two out of three fake reaction

CrashTestWalrus

It wasn't to my taste, girls. Big dick whipping sequence though, that was awesome. I watched it in its entirety out of solidarity, because I fully support experimentation and risk-taking. If it doesn't work out, you learn and move on. I haven't given up on Indian movies just yet and I'll definitely watch 3 idiots when you upload it

Jef Etters

Yeah. I don’t know anything about Indian films but Life of Pi is great.

Lawrence

Always guessing right fake reaction

Digitalversager

"Three Idiots" is coming next week; the ladies already announced that in this reaction.

Digitalversager

It’s actually funny how close-minded the people are who always accuse others of being close-minded.😅

Jonathan Kidman

I do appreciate them watching more non english language movies even if this particular movie is not for me (maybe some Hong Kong action movies like Hard Boiled (1992) might be a good idea in the future)

mehdi

i can't...

Nhia Vang

LMAO I thought you guys were talking bad about MOVIE MUNCHIES but there is an actual movie called Three Idiots.

Oliver

No, there isnt

k12345

Jesus calm down guys its just a movie and maybe a few more. Could be worse could be the old 00s resident evil movies or the underworld movies lol

Kris Wustrow

You can call me "close minded" -- But Indian films are a NO-GO for me. I'll be out of here.

Kris Wustrow

You can call me "close minded" -- But loading up Indian films is a NO-GO for me. I'll be out of here.

One Filthy Pilot

Not a lot of people catch this, but Martha, the Governor's wife, was played by the same actress who played Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

One Filthy Pilot

Thank you for making me laugh. Do you actually believe that they pre-watched a 3+ hour movie from India, and then recorded their second watch? With all of the other content they release, when would they have the time to do this? A bigger question is why would they do this? An even bigger question is, have you been taking your meds?

Manospondylus

Three Amigos would have been a better choice.

lee eames

Watched the first ten minutes....hilarious... but not in a good way.

King Bob

to be fair adjusted for inflation all of them got similar box office numbers world wide - Adjusted worldwide box office (2026 dollars) Resident Evil $191.8m RRR $190.7m Underworld $174.2m .....they are all on a similar level in terms of score out of 10, but obviously very different genres....

httruong

Wow. Such entitled behaviors. That's not your patreon. If you don't like a movie that appears, just don't watch the reaction, you cannot expect all movies to fit exactly your own tastes and if you want that everything to be exactly like you want then open your own channel.

King Bob

....it is well made if you like that sort of thing but the production and writing style make me feel like I am watching a Cartoon......

King Bob

@Stefan Williams... ah clash of preferences...Kung Fu Hustle is too modern for me ...i like the Historical Fantasy style... Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, House of Flying Daggers, The Sorcerer and the White Snake.....

Walter

Harsh comments. Expand your horizons, this is a great movie. Love seeing it here. Thanks.

Daryl 👽

Good mention. I LOVE THIS MOVIE

Daryl 👽

People like to remind everyone else that they're sensitive when it comes to a films they don't like. Lol

Rick Santos

aww u deleted my other comment ..........

Manospondylus

I think there are too vast a cultural difference for western audiences to want to watch Indian films. Way, Way too vast. I have no need to watch this ibh.

Manospondylus

Harsh but true. They might lose subs if indian movies become regulars.

Tim

Agreed, but just got out of the new Resident Evil movie and that one was so good! It's what Resident Evil should have been years ago, check it out!

Tim

Hard Boiled is a good choice, I'd add Infernal Affairs, Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle, Battle Royale, Ringu, Old Boy, I can keep going haha

Lawrence

Meaning two out of three girls seen it or read about it no matter what movie always guessing right obvious

Jef Etters

It’s not “entitled behavior” to state an opinion saying you like or don’t like a type of film. That’s normal behavior.

Jef Etters

I tried. I bailed. It’s not for me.

Joel Purvis

This movie was huge even in America. It's totally insane and super fun. I don't think covering what is probably the biggest movie ever to come out of the Indian film industry is a sign that they're going to start watching Bollywood films.

austntexan

Yeah, I saw that. Her Wildenstein-esque face had been burned into my memory by some other low-budget film she co-starred in with Robert Patrick some years back. I think she was a in a Bond film too, I forget which.

austntexan

Good reaction. I had no idea this film was 3 hrs long. I've been wanting to check it out. Splitting it up into two viewings. Looking forward to Serenity. Anyone here a fan of Castle? Is it worth watching? They've filmed a lot of episodes, that's a good sign.

Luh Beef

@Joel, sign or not, I want to nip it in the bud before they get the idea that this is something they should continue. Indian movies are trash and they already clutter up too much of movie review and torrent sites. Last thing I want to see is them taking away time from good movies or TV reactions on this channel.

Proto Type

Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) is another great movie to consider

k12345

Calm down

Proto Type

How I imagine a conversation in India, between a potential actor/actress and a talent agent ~ "Well, lets see here... Prestigious acting school.... hmmm.. Graduated top in your Class.. Oh great... I see you've gotten extensive acting experience... yes of course. .. and you've done some modeling.. mmh hmm..... yes.... and previous theater awards... I see.. yes yes, that's very good.. Oh.. and I see you've been in several commercials also.. . yes good.. Well then, I guess I only have one question for you... How's your cardio??? " 💃🕺 🕵️‍♂️

Andy

womp womp

Miou-Miou!

@Joel Purvis nobody is forcing you to be here, there are loads of people who are not from the US, most of us speak more than one language and even if we don't speak a certain language, subtitles are not an issue for us. i have a hard time remembering when i last saw a hollywood movie that was actually good and not just a 300-600 million dollar CGI slopfest with badly written dialogue.

Miou-Miou!

@Alex Anderson what? indian movies have ripped off south korean films? oh my god.. well at least hollywood would never do that.. .. . .. except for pretty much all the good asian movies they made bad copies of. old boy being the best example, but lets not forget pretty much all the samurai movies from akira kurosawa that got turned into spaghetti westerns and some other genres but with the exact same storyline. the US is a newborn baby of a country with no history of their own, unless it is sci-fi they are pretty much just doing what has already been done better by other nations.

Piranther

This reminds me of an American movie with an Indian actor, a comedy called Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. I've requested it before.

Nhia Vang

Only 34 likes hopefully that signals Chi not to do any more of these movies but knowing her she does whatever she likes.

Nhia Vang

Only 34 likes hopefully the girls know not to watch these kind of movies but knowing Chi she will just do what she pleases.

TippedDuke

What? Bollywood movies are awesome, a little song, a little dance, what's not to like?!

Chris Kodama

This may have been the first Indian movie that I've actually seen and I wasn't sure what to expect from it. I sort of knew there tends to be lots of singing and dancing in Indian movies but I have to say that I found this movie to be surprisingly entertaining. I commend Movie Munchies for watching movies from other countries (beside all the movies they've already watched that have come from the U.S.A.) and being open minded and willing to try something new and different. That's how you grow as a person. This movie really brought out a lot of emotions from Chi, Katie and Ivy (I don't think I've seen Chi as teary eyed and emotional as she was while watching this one) and it was fun to see them go through all those emotions while reacting to this movie. Thank you Movie Munchies, this was an eye opening experience for me.

Poefan95

Where is Hella???

Erik Stevenson

Damn people need to get over themselves. It's embarrassing so many of your Patrons are such babies!

on crip ...

AMAZING idk wtf these other people are on
