Wow, The Munchies watching some really good movies this October. Can't wait to dive into this one!

Hi Munchies !! "I'm not easy to be scared" ......press "x" to doubt 🤣 I have some memory from your last horror movie who make me want to say otherwise. with all my respect of course. 😉 I'll be honest, I never watched this movie before. I know constantine. I discovered him in cartoon and TV show from DC Comics where he team up with Batman and other Justice league's members. he's one of the 3 big magician of DC with Zatana and Dr Fate (this one is clearly the inspiration for dr Strange to me. he appear 23 years later). but yes his aestetic is more lovecraftian/investigation than always fighting like a Batman or superman (or even a Dr stanger to stay in magics) But I never like Constantine. he's too arrogant for me. in the adaptation I saw, he always piss of deamons by insulting them and then complain they attack him. And the guy is so in magic that he look stupid when, trying to reanimated someone, Batman just inject adrenalin in the chest while of constantine is still losing times doing his spell 🤣. bref, for short, I don't like the character in comics. so I'm curious how the movie goes, even more with Keanu reeves! let's discover it together. (and I should watch Chi and Hella's too😅). Let's go! for the movie Clearly the introduction to Constantine is a big reference to "the exorcist". The actress who play Gabriel, Tilda swinton, is the same as the old one in dr strange. I know her only there. Surprised to see shia Labeoeuf too. ( he's Chas) "You're f*cked" 🤣🤣"what did you do?" if they keep his normal behaviour as the one in comics...he's a big assh*les who made deal often with deamons to be able to betray them and send them back in hell....he's also having a very loose morality. he's an anti-hero! (I even saw him play poker with daemons once) I never saw someone "happy to work wigh him" anywhere. Can we say that the curse on the father that can't drink would be the perfect one to help an alcoholic one .😈😂 "why don't tyou take of the shoes!" what? 😂 well yes, that's stupid!😅 "they should have make the devil wear black" he's called Lucifer "bearer of light" because he's "disguising himself as an angel of light". so honestly, good idea for the adaptation. "why?!!!! where's my kiss?!" 🤣🤣 you really waited for that didn't you?! 😂 For the conclusion for suicide, yes. This is one of the worst sin because you reject the life that God offered you. For the movie itself, it's a good adaptation of the character I know. being an assh*le to everyone: check. fighting demons:check. a universe where both angels and deamons are causing troubles: check. using of magic: +- check. from memory, he don't use it like that but the idea is here. But we clearly in a action/super-hero movie more than horror one. Except for the deamon's face and the reference to the exorcist in the begining. but after, we are really more in a super-hero style. I just have a hard time with how the movie represented God and his way (loveless and enable to feel compasion and ruled by rules only). But, it's normal. the movie put his own view to create his world, not the bible's one. (after all, Hell don't exist in the bible. all the world use that we translated as "hell" meant the "tomb". the "common tomb" where everyone goes.) but again, it's a religous view. so it's normal that it differ. But I agree, Angela didn't helped much. she was the target, that's all. and for me, that's OK. and for the lack of kiss...let's say I think the director wanted to play with us! 😂 In all cases, a much better time than expected. I still don't like Constantine as a character in DC, neither I like how the movie represented God in general. but still had a good time discovering it with you! Thanks munchies! (now I really need to see Chi and Hella's!😅) If you like this style of superhero, let recommend you "Ghost riders"! ( There's 2 movie, up to you to do both or only the first one. The first is clearly the best one , I'm sure you'll like it. Mostly Ivy and hella 😉 I have a inch.) Have a good day munchies!u

Hello to the beautiful Ivy and Katie❤️I would really wish one day you 2 girls will watch The Lost Boys 1987🙏Also Dracula Untold 2014

One of the reasons Constantine doesn't quite kiss Angela is because in the original cut of the movie, John sort of had a "girlfriend". She was a half-breed demon girlfriend too! The female demon you see in the scene with the sprinklers who says "holy water?" actually had a bunch of scenes with him that were cut, you can see them as extras on the DVD. At the end, she's the one demon to survive that sprinkler scene as John lets her go even though she'd betrayed him. But the filmmakers decided that the movie works better if Constantine is more alone and isolated, so the scenes they had together were reworked and her character was removed, except for that one shot.

I love this film. Like The Crow or Blade, Constantine is one of those movies where many people don’t even realize it’s based on a comic book. I’ve always viewed it as a sort of spiritual counterpart to The Matrix; the visual style is quite similar, and Constantine was released just a few years after The Matrix. I think a detail that often gets overlooked is that Isabel took her own life to prevent Mammon from using her as a vessel for his birth. I absolutely love Peter Stormare’s portrayal of Lucifer, it’s a truly brilliant performance. In my opinion, he’s even a bit better than Al Pacino in The Devil’s Advocate. Don’t get me wrong, Pacino’s Devil is fantastic, but he had an entire film to make an impression. Peter Stormare only had a few minutes, yet he made a hell of an impact!😅 Ivy looked genuinely disappointed that there wasn’t a kissing scene at the end.😅 As someone else already mentioned, the reason there was no kiss is that the story was changed at the last minute. Originally, Constantine was supposed to have a "girlfriend" who was a half-demon, but that was cut to make Constantine more of a lone warrior. You can watch the deleted scenes, with commentary from the director here: https://youtu.be/WVsG-fnWJjo?is=_bYvzvfxx9u-LbFH Since Christmas is fast approaching, I’d like to suggest Scrooged (1988) for a reaction video. It’s one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies, starring Bill Murray (Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day). As always, a great reaction, ladies! 💜

Lucifer was an angel in the Christian story, probably why they depicted him in white

MovieMunchies65

I’m so glad you’re enjoying our October picks! 🥰❤️

I still think this movie is great. Lucifer wears white because even though he is a fallen angel, he is still an angel--he wears it to mock God. The actual decision for Lucifer to wear white was made by the actor that played him. Peter Stormare wanted to portray Lucifer like a patient, calculating, executive-styled businessman instead of the typical image of the devil people imagine. I think it was a great choice and it gave Lucifer a touch of "class". There were some attempts to bring Constantine to TV, but with a different actor. Unfortunately, while his cameo appearances on two mainstream shows were good, when they did a show just about Constantine it failed badly. The Constantine TV show stayed true to the character, but the writing and plots were bad, the show aired on Friday nights at 10PM (when most people are out starting the weekend), half of the first season was declined by the studios, and Warner Brothers was involved in a merger, so the TV show was denied a second season and that was it. Sometimes it's best to just be happy with the movie, but Hollywood never rests when there are dollars to be made. Katie, I'm sorry, but I'm calling bullshit on your statement that movies don't scare you. I've seen enough of your reactions to know that eventually you'll have to wear a seatbelt or harness during scary movies to keep yourself from flying off the couch one of these days. 😜
