At one time in the 90s, Ghost Rider was considered to be one of Marvel's most popular characters upon his debut in the comics. So much so that he received his own toy line without an animated series or movie franchise, which was completely unheard of at the time. In fact, when Marvel was facing bankruptcy in the 90s, they had to sell off the theatrical rights to many of its popular characters like Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Hulk, and Ghost Rider. This led to Sony, which bought the rights to Spider-Man, turning down a $25 million deal where they had the chance of a lifetime opportunity to buy ALL of the theatrical rights to every Marvel character, but didn't because they heavily believed audiences only cared about Spider-Man. They then bought Ghost Rider after the success of the first Spider-Man movie. Unfortunately, there was a lot of trial and error when it came to marketing Ghost Rider since most comic fans were kids and they didn't know how to advertise a demonic vengeful spirit riding a motorcycle in a way that parents would approve of. They thought they found a solution with the Nicholas Cage movie and tried marketing the series around that but failed after the sequel due to a poor box office performance. After this, they quietly let the theatrical rights revert back to Marvel and focused their attention solely on the Andrew Garfield Spider-man movies instead. Sadly, the character has been quietly drifting out of the public spotlight for mainstream audiences for a while since he hasn't made a live action appearance on the big screen in 15 years. However, the good news is that marvel just announced they're making a new Ghost Rider film set in the MCU starring Ryan Gosling as the titular character. Ironically Ryan Gosling's real life wife, Eva Mendes, plays Ghost Rider's love interest in this movie lol. Great reaction as always MM

This movie is fun mostly due to Nicolas Cage’s over the top performance and some of the CGI action sequences, you really don’t have to watch the next film ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance’ as it is one of the lowest rated marvel movies (I think only Madame Web has a lower rating on IMDB), it’s also not really a sequel to the first one, Nicolas Cage plays the same character but it’s confusingly a reboot of the character and does not follow the events of this film. As for Nicolas Cage’s abs, when it came out everyone thought they were CGI, however Cage says they were real, he said "That's why I will never work out that hard again, because nobody wanted to believe they were real." However Cage is an odd guy so who knows, they certainly don’t look real. The villains are pretty weak though, like he just takes out the elemental guys by burning them in various ways, it’s barely a fight, the actual riding scenes are cool but the fight scenes are very anti climactic, oh gee i wonder how he will defeat the water guy. Also whoever played young roxanne is the spitting image of Eva Mendes, well done on the casting department for that one, also why does Carter Slade use up his power just to ride to San Venganza and then presumably die? Like he accomplished nothing, but he did look cool riding in the desert so that’s something, maybe he had to lead Johnny to the place, you think the hell bike has some sort of hell sat nav? Anyway this movie is quite stupid but pretty fun, best enjoyed with a martini glass full of jelly beans.

Hi Munchies, fun fact a lot of the location and production studio shooting for this movie was done in Melbourne, Australia, so a lot of the supporting and minor roles are played by Australian actors including Rebel Wilson (in her first role in a big iHollywood movie).

It’s been ages since I last watched Ghost Rider; it’s still a very entertaining film. The most important lesson from the movie: never make a deal with the Devil, he’ll always cheat you!😅 The special effects are definitely showing their age, but they still have a certain charm. It seems to me that when it comes to Nicolas Cage, there are only two schools of thought: you either love him or you hate him. Personally, I love him, and I’m glad you ladies like him too. He’s in plenty of films that are worth watching. If you’d like to see more, I highly recommend Face/Off (1997). He stars in it alongside John Travolta; it’s one of my favorite action movies from the 90s. As always, that was a fantastic reaction, ladies!💜

Hello Munchies! YES!! And Katie Know him too ? but not Chi and Hella? and Katie is hype? EVEN BETTER!! that's gonna be so fun!!! "a comedy?" 😅 well sometimes, it's not that far! 😅 Ghost Rider is not my favourites marvel character. but he's so cool !!! come on guys, A flaming skeleton in a leather biker suit on a flaming bike with skulls with a flaming chain-whip!! how can you not find him cool at some point! ?😅😈 "no one can be that cool" yes, I totally agree !! I may not like his origin .an angel/daemon (it depend) send by the devil/god (it depend again) to hunt sinners and spirits messsing around....ouch for me as christians, but damn he look so cool. for the movie morality: never made a faustian deal or sold our souls, it's always going bad for us. I was waiting for the reaction to the first transformation for so long...😅 It didn't dissapoint! Katie was so hype! Hella and Chi so surprised! (the prison one is even funnier for the movie. and I love the "spiky dressing out") "feel the pain", "that's how we should punish people" I'm with hella! that's how many should be punished!! Each time I see "Gran torino" or a movie similar, I wish they have a Riders to make them be punish like that!!! make those ganster who aggresed the girl in "Gran Torino" suff*r way more than what the movie is making them. but unfortunately, we don't have spirit of vengeance in our world...(They would have so much work....😟)Eh, everyone can have his little fantasy, don't we?😉 "we are legion for we are many" Is it me or they love to use that bible's quote often in media? it's about a man possesed by many deamons that Jesus healed. In Luke chapter 8 and Mark chapter 5. Some Facts for the movie (mostly comics perspective but the movie's intell too) When Johnny is transforming, first he scream because he's really burning and feel it, but when he laugh, it's the rider who's laughing. And for the skull of Ghost rider, they use real X-ray image of Nicolas cage's Skull to create it. Yes, this is his real muscles. he made a strict diet (even the exact morning he eat only sugar to avoid any fat) and musculation just for that. the only CGI on him (outside the Riders effect) are erasing a tattoo for the scene. the muscles were all real. In comics, He's one of the most overpowered character! they didn't put in the MCU (until reccently) because if he was there, they willl be no fight! (he appear only in a little Show but not even canon anymore for what I heard. and it's not even johnny Blaze. it's another of the 3 main riders and he use a car...) If he was in infinity war, just because Thanos regret killing Gamora, he's done. penance stare like Blackheart here and that's it!!!!. YES, he's OP! he one-shoot Galactus! (one of the most dangerous entity of marvel) in a "fantastic 4" cartoon! he appears, penance stare, and leave! he's that strong! the only one I saw escaping him are those who never hurt innocent despice killing like the Punisher, that we saw in "Spider-man brand new day". I even saw someone who theorize a little about his capacity in other media (and I agree with him). If we take the penance stare, the hellfire and his other capacity and we throw him against most of all the "famous horrors figure" and many that you saw those last week (like the cenobytes of Hellraiser, Freddy krueger from Nightmare in elm street (in his case, first we must get him in out the dream in our world first, hard but not impossible), Samara/sadako from "the rings", chucky from "childplay", "jespeer creepers" etc...), Ghost rider is gonna kick their *ss so hard and send them to hell! most of them, he's gonna send them back the same way as the "dirtbag". He was created to do that! he's a hunter for those creatures! for the end "it's so her colour" Clearly !! When I began to see more of Ivy (both here and instagram pictures) and know her a little more, I immediately though "Ivy is gonna love this one!!" (mostly the scene in the jail, with the spike appearing) Too bad for her, she wasn't here. Maybe another time, or by her own. good time nonetheless. The movie is not a masterpiece (like many will say). Yes, many things in the scenario could feel easy (like how he beat blackheart and the others but it fir how OP he is in comics), the fighting are somehow not that much worked (but hard to create imaginatives way to fight when your main weapons is a flaming chain-whip. They already had to add a shotgun). and some element don't make sense (like the old ghost riders having limited transformation, since when ??) Cage's acting...either way we love it or not.Moslty, like Chi, I kike it too. but sometimes, I think he's too "weird" in his character in this movie(mostly with Roxane). But he do the job alright. Nobody could have done the transformation better (showing the pain of burning alive and passing to a spirit finally happy to be set free) and it's honestly quite a good interpretation of the character!!! (mostly the riders, I'm not sure about Blaze himself). Not incredible, but good enough story (maybe cheesy love story but that's normal in those movies) and incredible visuals (each time the riders is here, it's so good! he stole the show!) I think this reaction is gonna become one I will watch again sometimes! such a good times with you on a "guilty pleasure" of mine! Thanks a lot Munchies !! have a Good day!

I wouldn't called it the worst CGI ever. The one thing about Spawn is the costumes and details are spot on and look way better then most modern films. Even the CGI in Ghost Rider looks like crap and the film was made in 2007 compared to Spawn in 1997. Spawn also was given a re-released in 4k and UHD and that's because of how great the graphic was given it time.
