The internet existed in the 80s, but was not well known except among people super into tech. I never heard the word internet in the 80s as a kid. We first got the internet in our house in 1994. There's a famous clip from The Today Show in the US from 94-95 where the hosts ask "what is internet" and it was the first time they had an internet address on screen, and were confused by the "@" symbol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95-yZ-31j9A Also all of the satanic panic being shown is an actual thing that was common. Groups would form and hold record burnings of anything deemed "satanic". Heavy Metal music was a big target for that. The watergate comment was referencing the watergate politcal scandal in the US (named after the watergate hotel that was broken into) that caused President Nixon to resign from office. It led to anything that's some sort of scandal to be called "something-gate".

I didn’t realize that you were bilingual! Nice Russian! Pretty impressive! 😊 Alright, just to clear something up, the “creepy guy” is an orderly, not a scientist. He helps keep the kids controlled. There are a few orderlies in the lab. They all report to Papa. And look at the deductive powers of DQ (I got tired of writing “Detective Quokka”) hitting the nail on the head once again! You figured out that the prisoner switch with Murray and Yuri was the best tactic to get them into the prison before THEY even said it! That was amazing! Nice work! I know I don’t need to say it because you’ve probably already figured it out, but I am definitely someone who very much enjoys the time you spend throwing out your theories and trying to put together all those puzzle pieces. I imagine a white board in your head that has all these circles, lines and formulas written on it with pictures of all the characters and their connection to the plot. An Einstein board, if you wish. Once again, all your theories make a lot of sense. There are only 3 more episodes, so you don’t have to wait too much longer to find out which, IF ANY, of them are correct. I am so here for it! This is going to be so much fun! So, keep that top hat, monocle and mustache handy DQ! You got this!
