I feel like this finale is overshadowed by last season's finale, but I love this one. (BTW- Matt LeBlanc can still do the hand twin song. I saw him recite it in an interview not to long ago.)

So, Chandler was supposed to cheat on Monica in this episode. After their fight, he was supposed to run into a woman. They had an actress hired, and it got as far as rehearsal. Then Matthew Perry went to the writers and said he did not want to play that. He said, the audience would never forgive Chandler, and it was out of character for him. He basically refused to play it. So the flight attendant on the airplane with Ross and Rachel was the actress that was originally hired to be the woman he was going to cheat with. Thanks to Matthew Perry, that didn't happen. I would have hated that. I really think their style going forward is definitely a big shift from the earlier seasons. Its not noticeably dated as much

Love this finale and like you, season 5 is my favorite mostly because of the Monica/Chandler relationship. Now I'll totally over analyze: I think this was an important milestone for them. Chandler has abandonment issues, and all his girlfriends have left him for other men, so he always feels like someone women settle for. So the idea that he thinks Monica would leave him for Richard makes sense to me. When she tells him he's the love of her life it help him get over that. For Monica, she's never on the same page with guys and they don't want what she wants (marriage & a family) so Chandler springing that idea of getting married and telling her "it's a four" gets rid of that fear that she'll find out he doesn't want that stuff too. So the two of them getting swept up in that and running for a Vegas wedding makes so much sense to me. It's like they both exorcised a few demons. Also, Ross and Rachel as agents of chaos is peak entertainment.

remember they had outs to get out of getting married and chandler didn't freak out or try to get out of it. chandler was ready, actually ready.

That yellow/golden dress that Rachel had! Along with her tan she had that episode, I always found Monica most attractive out of the three, but with that yellow dress! She looked like a goddess!

I was soooo worried about them too 😪 thank goodness Mathew refused to do the whole cheating storyline. They already did that with Ross and Rachel. It doesn’t make sense for Chandler. I just love them so much together and glad they resolved that so quickly. They are Slowly healing each other from their past trauma and they make each other better. 💖 I can’t wait for next season!

I love how much you love Chandler and Monica. They are the reason season 5 was so amazing! 🥰 🥰Also, unhinged Ross, of course! So good 👌🏻 Ross and Rachel are both wild and hilarious together in this finale. Them coming out of that chapel married at the end was crazy. My first experience watching Friends was a little different, b/c I actually started watching this show with some friends when it was airing live in its 8th or 9th season. I hadn’t watched it before that, so I saw the last couple seasons of this series before I ever went back and watched the beginning. It didn’t make it any less enjoyable for me, I still really loved it. I wonder sometimes what my unaware, surprised reaction would have been to some of these unexpected moments if I hadn’t already known what was ahead. It’s so fun watching you and hearing your thoughts on everything happening as well as the fashion.
