yeah. he was dead. the spirit water brought him back i don't think azula would allow ozai to control her if she thought she could beat him the thing you have to remember about the choice zuko made is that he was choosing between doing the right thing and basically having nothing, or doing the wrong thing and getting literally everything he ever wanted. zuko's choice was realistic as hell i think. and i think anyone dealing with toxic relationships or like addictions can relate. sokka's side is the right side. aang is being very stubborn and prideful did azula lie? zuko said it best in his backstory episode "azula always lies" azula is running so many plans when zuko comes in and asks what she's doing she's like "which plan" the first appearance of the greatest fire nation warrior ever: wang fire if you like the high school drama you should also look into finding the 3 chibi avatar shorts. they aired after like 3 random episodes this season of course history is told differently in the fire nation. the winners write the history

One of my favorite lines in the series was from the Fire Lord. "I see the weight of your travels has changed you." How has Zuko changed???

all of fire nation are the firelord's pawns. Azula is his attack dog. I will say that just like Sozin he is a bit of a coward in waiting for the comet to gain advantage and then conquer the world but to say that Azula did more than him would be misguided... cz he put her on that mission himself.

Great reaction, can’t wait for the rest of your journey!

Even in Iroh's silence it's like he's still helping Zuko grow. He desperately wants to speak to him but doesn't want to validate his shocking decision making, he's the best

You didn’t seem to notice this and it doesn’t appear that anyone else mentioned it to you, but the fake name that Aang used “Kuzon” is the name of a friend that Aang had a hundred years ago. He mentioned this back in season 1 and that he was from the Fire Nation. Cute little callback imo.
