Marat Gabidullin, born in Siberia and raised in Uzbekistan, served in Soviet airborne forces until 1994, then spent three years in prison for shooting a crime boss. After security work in Russia, he joined the Wagner Group in 2015, rose to lead a reconnaissance company, and was badly wounded near Palmyra in 2016. He later advised the ISIS Hunters Battalion and fought at Khasham, but quit Wagner in 2019, briefly ran a Redut detachment in Syria, and left disillusioned. Gabidullin’s 2022 memoir denounced Wagner and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine; he now lives in France.

Shawn and SRS team, you never cease to amaze me with the direction of the interviews. As an individual with family from the area where "The Company "was formed, I appreciate the internal view.

AMERICAN LEGIONNAIRE

Damn, that's a short video interview considering all the information he can provide. Hope you got some off the record brother after filming. 👍

Ronnie Tschan

Wow that was incredible. The older I get the more I think behind the scenes. These politicians making back room deals probably to line their pockets, while somebody is getting their ass shot off. 💪🇺🇸💪 SRS

SergeyM

Prigojin was way out of his league in Syria…They got their ass handed to them by US Specs…

Chad Frank

This was very interesting. Great work Shawn.

Bevan Gamewell

This is tremendous help in my continous quest to understand. Thank you, Sean.

nevva gon stop hating punky

Well shit Shawn you didn't have to get him whacked by asking that last question 😂😂

Tindog

Listening to Marat I heard a warrior from a failed campaign that Loved a country that Betrayed him. Still the love for his country runs deep just not the Politics of his country. A little 1970’s don’t you think? The Vietnam error was much like he feels today. A little short but now many who didn’t know now know. We have engaged the Russians and won big time. Their war of attrition falls right into our way of fighting. Kill them all and go home alive.

some greyman

This is great hearing the other side no matter how much we don't want to hear it.

Kurt

Riveting. Riveting to my core. "Eggo" equals destruction. Ultimately "eggo" results in total destruction. And make no mistake whatsoever, that destruction is righteous. That's is my comment for this tremendous and brilliant interview, but I have a post script. P.S. the realities, the consequences and the truths associated with ego and righteousness have had since the end of WW2 and up to this very day massive implications for America.

Micky

How many have died for the love of oil?! No country has clean hands

Marc Doig

Great new insight

Eric F. Cotter

Yes but they were told it was saber rattling by the US. Russia hung them out to die. They let them “ have a go” with the US finest. Disgusting

SAMH

This was a great interview. I hung on every word. You are always bringing us information we aren't getting anywhere else. Can't wait to see what's next. Thank you Shawn!

JIM NEWMAN

Hearing the other side is enlightening. The Russian government wanting to join forces to fight ISIS ……. Very interesting

Bruce Chappell

I think you should interview the reporter as well. He seems to know just as much as Marat

Keegan Cross

This is incredible! I have heard it mentioned a few times but I just want to echo it, this is true reporting. No bullshit, just genuine information from a person wanting to share his story with other people. This type of information is what we the people have been craving for so long. Thank you so much Shawn and team for the quality of content that you continue to deliver.

Enrico Santona

Hell Yeah. Been waiting all weekend for this one to drop 🔥🔥🔥

Mike

I really wonder how much the people who control the U.S. war machine are stealing from American taxpayers. We know lobbyists and executives at defense contractors make serious money—but is all of it legitimate? I’ve noticed Elon Musk tends to speak only in generalities when discussing anything related to the military, lumping everything together under “the Pentagon.” The Department of Defense should be audited by DOGE, but in my opinion, it will never happen. Between 1998 and 2015, we found out there were $21 trillion in unaccounted transactions. They've failed the last seven audits, with an average of $2.46 trillion unaccounted for each year.

Charles Kane

Head of the FSB made the call to Putin and asked permission to take out Prigozhen. IMHO An easy call, plus it helps solidify FSB commitment and loyalty within their ranks to Putin.

Jimmy Wusinich

I used to have nightmares about Apache Helicopters. Can’t imagine what hopelessness he felt after witnessing his whole squads casualty numbers. Just a graveyard. Great episode.

Michael Nicholas

Gee, wonder why mainstream never reported on this??

JIM NEWMAN

Had to watch again. Your most relevant interview, great job guys !

Alex Guillory

Dude didn’t bitch out at the end when Shawn asked him if he had anything to say to Putin. Good interview. Feel like the dude is probably a good guy just a victim of circumstance and was put in a fucked up spot by the leaders he had. None the less, on the battlefield it’s f**k em. #America

Barbara

Will watch again thanks

FrenchFriedFool85

I Really enjoyed this interview. Ihad to pause to think. I am glad you all agreed to engage. Always something in most of these conversations change my heart and mind adding to me.

Paul Vernon

Shawn: Great interview. I hope many in D.C. watch this. Many things to be learned here.

Investigator Steven M Waldo

I am still trying to wrap my head around the content in this epic interview. It is very timely given the current world events. What I found so intriguing was that two enemy top tier combatants were sitting opposite each other talking about real life events and conflicts from their own experiences and personal knowledge. These are not pundits or scholars talking from ivory towers. They are highly intelligent, expertly trained, experienced soldiers who have been in the fight time and time again. Seeing from their opposite sides is an extremely powerful, important and rare event. Thank you so much to Shawn and the team for bringing us along for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Y’all continue to kick it up a notch with each and every interview. We all await your next bombshell interview.

stephenmullens

Really good. Looking forward to more like it. Thank you.

Sharon

Incredible interview! Brings to light lots of why’s: why Russia was losing so much in the beginning & why the Wagoner group marched toward Moscow. When I think about war, never had occurred to me such high level conflict between Generals & Defense Ministers, on the same team, would impact outcomes resulting in many deaths of their own men! Crazy Ego’s. BTW… I wanna know, how much that ‘room with a view’ cost per night? Although those blinking tower lights might keep you up all night.
