Jared Isaacman is an American billionaire entrepreneur, pilot, and commercial astronaut. He founded Shift4 Payments in 1999 at age 16, growing it into a leading integrated payment processing company that went public in 2020, handling transactions for a third of U.S. restaurants and hotels. An accomplished aviator with over 7,000 flight hours, Isaacman set a world speed record for circumnavigating the globe in a light jet in 2009 and founded Draken International in 2012, the world's largest private air force providing adversary air support.

In space exploration, he commanded the all-civilian Inspiration4 mission in 2021, raising $240 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and Polaris Dawn in 2024, conducting the first private spacewalk and testing Starlink communications.

Nominated by President Trump for NASA Administrator in December 2024, the nomination was withdrawn in June 2025 due to prior political donations, after which Isaacman donated $15 million to U.S. Space Camp programs. He advocates for advancing human spaceflight, public-private partnerships in aerospace, and philanthropy, including support for Make-A-Wish and veteran causes through his Polaris Program. Married to Monika with two children, Isaacman continues to push boundaries in business, aviation, and space.

Another great episode no doubt!

Another banger of a show!

Brennan Haines

Great guest!!! Wish he wasn’t pulled from the NASA admin position

John

Great interview. I’m 100% MAGA/ Bannon supporter. He should be running NASA

Sherry23

I’m so excited for this Shawn. Every time you put out a teaser, I’m so thankful to be a member! 🩷 Love you! Love the show! I wish I had the chance to meet you and your wonderful family/team like your guests. No one else has your reputation in this regard. I’ve got an idea for you, maybe invite a member once a month. Let them come out and meet the team and do a short interview with them on Patreon. I think it would take off like fire. An interview with just your average American who watches your show. Think about it. Keep up the good work. Much love and mad respect!

Want to view the possible future of humanity watch the Expanse. Like most of futuristic series there is a large volume of science and probabilities. Short view is humanity becomes the lowest valued comodity and water is one of the highest, maybe Helium3 ?

Jo

This man has had my childhood dream life. It's awesome to hear about it. Thanks for the great interview 👍

Ronnie Tschan

SICK 🔥 can’t wait to listen 2 this whole thing. 💪🇺🇸💪

AFjoe

Killer interview!

AC10

Incredible conversation. I listened to it twice. Anyone interested in space at all should watch this. Thank you both and the team.

Shipping rockets packed with Xanax to Mars, just before the first humans. 🤔

Quickest 3 hours of my life !

Jared

Finally a Jared i can look up too! Jared is not a common name. It's from the old testament. The English quote to the Bible is that Jared is the son of the oldest man in the world. (Because of your episode of Nathan Apfell, i bought a copy of king James 1611. I'll be interested to see if my name is more then the son) anyways. When I tell people, customer service, or potential friends my name all I had was Jared Leto, and Jared from Subway. Two morally wrong people. So thank you Jared Isaacman

I hope to see people taking their long-weekend jaunts to the moon someday in a really-tiny-home with a view! Complimentary food, water, oxygen, and an indoor privy. I'm serious! I'll never experience it but I'll bet my grandchildren will. I think my kids would let their own kids save up some money to take a moon-bound space bus. One of the first things that fascinated my two-year-old grandson was seeing the moon. One of his first words was "moon". Then one day I pointed out the moon to him and he said, "half-moon". He's game!

Ernie Glass

Awesome man, great interview, I would love to see him at the head of NASA - forward leadership is needed.

Robert Diggins

What a refreshing interview, and a timely contrast, after the last show. Whew! I would suggest he get consultation from Gerald Pollack, from the UW Seattle, on the 4th phase of water (Exclusion Zone) and it's effect on the water cycle and possibly beyond. I would also suggest a review of Astronomer Halton Arp's observational data on multiple pairs of connected galaxies with vastly different red shifts. The JWST confirmed these were connected in additional wavelengths. This is a big deal, because it means there MUST be another reason why one out of each pair was impossibly red shifted, in quantized amounts. Meaning it wasn't all Doppler "shift" or stretching of light, but something intrinsically red. The natural first thought is that there's a parent-child relationship and some of the red has to do with age. That's just a hypothesis, but the observations are NOT explainable by redshift. What this means is that the rug is being pulled from under Big Bang Cosmology and "the expansion of the universe". So, what happened when this successful astronomer submitted his discovery to the "reputable journals"? They sent it back with a note that said "This is beyond my imagination." AND WOULD NOT PEER REVIEW IT. THESE ARE REPEATABLE OBSERVATIONS OF KNOWN GALAXY PAIRS, SO ALL THEY NEED TO DO IS LOOK! NOPE! That's the kind of crap that keeps the Big Bang alive. 🙈🙉🙊 I loved that he mentioned that "we used to think space was empty", too. Unfortunately, there's been no observation of any "dark matter", which was an ad hoc math solution to observation of Galaxy arm speed at the center vs the end. Since it didn't match the Gravity orchestrated cosmos, they had to come up with extra mass, as a math variable, that "must be there", instead of rethinking their weak cosmology. Plasma Cosmology is breaking down the door and it won't be stopped. Electromagnetism is 10³⁹ stronger than Gravity and NASA has already observed intergalactic scale magnetic fields and admitted that the auroras on Earth and other planets in our solar system are electrically charged by the Sun. Great show, thank you! ✨ ⚡ ☀️

❤️❤️❤️ All things space. This was such an interesting episode. President Trump NEEDS to hire him!! Great job Shawn!!

Leah Marie

I genuinely believe the Spiderverse is the easiest way to grasp it

Jody Harrison

My 13 year old loved this episode. He has been to Space Camp twice, LOVES anything aviation & space. We go to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville 3 or 4 times a year since he was old enough to walk. He also plans to go to college in Huntsville for Aeronautical & Astrological engineering. I would absolutely love for him to meet Jared at some point. I believe it would make a huge impact on him and see in real life what his potential could be. If anyone has any way I could get him to meet Jared please help me out. My Son says he wants to make a difference in this world and I think meeting Jared could just add that much more fuel to his fire.

Barb Dwyer

He’s too good for nasa

Steven Peters

Maybe the answer to the universe is God?

PandaLife

China, China, China.

TreelineMars

I don't think he was dropped from the nomination as a parting shot from Trump to musk, although perhaps Trump saw it that way. I think the entrenched interests (Boeing? etc.) wanted him gone all along, but without Musk to keep him in, he was dropped.

TreelineMars

If I was summing up this interview, it would read something like "America needs to get serious about everything "space" really fast, like 10 years ago. Cut the wedge issue, virtue signalling and just do it. Please don't give me tears about the starving masses, those are already funded light years beyond what Issacman is proposing. Europe explored the world and now the only starving masses in Europe are those they imported, one day there could be no need or deprivation on Earth, thanks to space industry. Look it's actually already possible, if all international political patronage to dictators, ala USAID, was removed.

Jessica Foor

I just wonder why you don’t see stars when you’re out in space ….? Anyone know the legit answer to this ?

Susan Mc

Wow, that was one of my absolute favs so far. As someone else here said, that 3 hours flew by. It’s exciting to hear such forward and innovative thinking. Made me think about some of the really great ideas I’ve had in life and finally giving some a shot!

Hunter

Excellent work sir and I just wanna say star base is pretty bad ass. I flew into Austin Texas for a MotoGP race and rented a car just to drive six hours south to check this place out and it’s incredible.

Jen

Just watching this discussion. Authenticity and transparency, speaking respectfully with no filters. This this communication and connection we are craving. Super proud he is now at NASA!
