Shawn is right, you got to take care of yourself, I work emergency medicine before leaving it a couple of years ago, for 28 year in various capacities, firefighter, FMF corpsman, ER tech at a level II trauma center! I pray and hope Ryan takes the time to reset his psyche. Making sure you yourself are strong and healthy is one of the biggest pillars of the first responder world. And from my understanding, Ryan is exposed to more daily duress than even the most seasoned EMT. I think this because I feel that when it comes to digital work, its like there is no boundary between the work world and our personal world. Unless Ryan lives in a cave, his computer and phone is constantly reminding him of his work. Vacations and digital detox is a must. How many times I have cried at the stories ofvarious military men that return from mar standing tall but broken inside. I hope that Ryan gets a really great MILITARY trauma therapist. I went through so many therapists and meds, I actually see so many similarities between Ryan and my deceased husband….smh, a marine trauma therapist helped me immensely, as someone with a lot of sexual trauma that began at 5. Opening up to an individual with the proper perspective, training and life experience can help the mind body and spirit. I have an autoimmune disorder but have been in much better health than I have ever been in since diving deep into my past.

By the grace of God I quit smoking after 20 years. Yet after pushing myself to finish this episode I took something to slow my heart rate down and smoked a cigarette. American, but lived abroad a lot of my life, just moved with my three kids, the oldest being 8, back to Rome from Austin, Texas. Nothing lights my eldest son up like gaming, which was an exhausting battle of him pushing to be in all of the platforms mentioned in this podcast. I wouldn’t be lying in saying a big draw in moving across the world was the opportunity to break my children’s neural linguistic patterns, habits such as Xbox and so on. Worth it.

Being in the same infosec field, none of the gadgets impress me. The Comm group mentioned is an old splintered group. They’ve formed other groups and there is so much more to it than explained. Definitely appreciate you and Ryan bringing awareness to the masses. These groups have girls do “signing” or cutting. Horrific things all recorded live and sold as mix tapes. There are Comm groups that hunt these type of people also. There is a wall for the fallen and books of lore for every person and the beefs they’ve been in. Too much to talk about, but these kids are being taught and scared into criminal activities. We need more groups educating parents and children. They are growing up in a world with far different dangers than we experienced.

I would give anything for my son to be clean and be alive. We fought his addiction for 17 years and then he took his own life at 33. This was the first Christmas without him and it was very hard. So I'm sure Ryan's mom is thrilled that every day she wakes up and gets to see that her son is alive and doing good! Way to go Ryan, sobriety is the best gift you could have ever given yourself and your mom!

Unfortunately, the fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine is most likely why no law enforcement agency or news outlet would touch that story. Because of the way that the evidence was obtained it wouldn't have been inadmissible and if they launched an investigation based on that evidence anything they found would most likely also be deemed inadmissible. There is a time and place for the fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine and it is not this. I think it should be amended to allow evidence collected by a private party to be admissible in situations involving the sexual abuse of children. However, I doubt that will ever happen since law makers tend to be involved in these things.

Watched this video twice now and respect to Ryan for what he is doing. As a father of two it is unimaginable that this is happening. Lately I am seeing this subject becoming more important in Europe as well. In the Netherlands they have brought a few offenders to justice now so at least somebody is looking in to this (maybe thanks to Ryan) I also saw a webinar by Europol about this subject so at least it is getting more attention here as well.

Stay close to Jesus, and employ a licensed, reputable mental health professional. Referred trauma is real. Take care of yourselves.
