SunkotaRidgeBaskets

OMG! I don’t want to sound like an advertisement, however I have to explain. I have a business Sunkota Ridge Baskets website:sunkotabaskets.com The baskets I handweave come from my dad/mom teaching me and my four sisters to STOP, look up and look down and surroundings for God’s hidden treasures! Growing up his back yard was the Great Smoky Mountains and eventually the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We hiked every trail on the North Carolina side and a few on the Tennessee side! My parents were from a small town in NC called Bryson City, my dad was a UT alum so we bleed orange from birth our heritage, heart and soul. We were backcountry EVERY chance there was and we camped, hiked and were taught not only the history that you could spot if you were aware, the wildflowers, the creeks, the trees and now my sisters and I continue our journey without them, however the beauty and peace lives on in us and we are never home unless we are walking those trails, trying to spot God’s hidden treasures, sitting meditating by a creek or waterfall! It is peace with God! Your journey! Our parents wanted their ashes mingled and placed around the creek and beautiful waterfall, which we did. So my baskets are not just baskets, they have names, they depict beautiful places and solitude! They not only hold items they hold memories of nature and love and it makes no difference if you don’t know these places, it is reminding you to pause and find life’s special places can be found sitting by a creek, waterfall or walking a quiet trail! ❤️

I’ve had the chance to meet Kegan a few years ago in Dallas, TX on his last marathon after running on every continent. He is a remarkable man that has overcome so much. What the VA and military did to him after his accident is outrageous!!! So happy to see him on your show!!! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
