Here are my thoughts on sling setup and some examples of what I run. In my opinion, slings can be overbuilt and overthought I like to keep things simple and easy.

I have virtually the same sling but I put a tri-glide QD mount on there so I can attach to the sling for a single point setup or I can attach to the rail for a double point setup. It kinda looks like you have a similar setup in that regard as well.

Lots of mine have the ability to do multipoint but I find myself pretty much going single point almost all the time.

I have one of the savvy sniper slings, Tried it single point, but it just rubbed me the wrong way. Even double point it ended up rubbing my neck, so I ended up wrapping it with a pad from a guitar case, and electrical tape. Helps, and makes a great fake rear support back when plinking at the range. Wish HK hooks were quieter. not an issue with your DIY one!
