Hello Tier II and Tier III,

Got a question about staying stealth with kit on. Do you make noise every time you take a step when you have your gear on?

This is something you might not think about on the regular when buying equipment but you'll definitely notice once you start using it.

Cheers!

Another great video ! Good advice for non veterans. Flush, tight, and retained. And for sure

Velcro is very noisy and almost always difficult to open when you're in an odd position such as laying on your side, half the time what you're trying to get to is pinned against the ground so you can't get a good pull on the Velcro pocket cover. I am from the old Alice gear days, Velcro was just starting to be used. Velcro does hold better, but the buttons can be manipulated much easier and opened silently.

Shawn i need some help or advice from you. I know your not fond of a rmr on pistols. But what are other reasons for not using them besides likely of failure. I have 1 glock 19 with an rmr and 1 with irons and I can't figure out which is better. I shoot well with both and my 1 with rmr has suppressor sights so if it fails I have good view of my irons. I'm trying to talk myself out of this red dot on my glock. Need some help man

My gear doesnt... but my body does.

It depends what belt I use and what I care on it, some makes more noises, some less but in general, yes it does. Very good point and topic to think about.

One question I'd ask is if the dot becomes a crutch or if it is really necessary for the distances that will be common. It adds a large amount of cost to the sticker price of the system. I would argue that you'd be better off spending the optic system budget on ammo and range time. If an RMR is ~$500 plus milling, plus suppressor hight sights, plus zeroing time, that is a good amount of time that could be spent getting live fire practice in. Food for thought.

I actually thought about this as was going to check and see if Patreon had a comments feature like Facebook. I see a lot of guys shove things in the pistol grip and it bounces around when the get off the range. I pack whatever I feel is need for each rifle in there with cotton balls and wrap a band of electrical tape or athletic tape around the grip. I build up a good layer of tape so it’s more of a shooting aide than a slick surface. Then when you get cut in the woods, cotton balls and tape for the win.

Rubber bands also help reduce the noise and rattle. Might have to give cotton balls and electrical tape a shot.
