Hello Tier II and Tier III,

This is probably my favorite handgun drill. The tape drill is great if you are facility limited or shooting at an indoor range. If you haven't seen the original tape drill, you'll want to check that one out https://www.patreon.com/posts/pistol-training-50045099. This one will be good if you are coming off a break from the range.

For those of you who have been practicing this, let me know how it's been going.

I have perfected this drill.... when I use 6inch tape.

good stuff. that angled one hand grip is interesting. don’t remember the rap on that.

Great. Now I'm going to have to budget ammo AND duct tape.

I love this drill. Been using it ever since you first out it out!

BillB

Big fan of the tape drill!

Tape drill was very helpful and I will definitely use it for my warm up. I was doing good up to 10 yards, but started pulling left at longer distance. I’m not sure if it’s over gripping or trigger related issues. Any thoughts on how to get more accurate at longer distances? Thanks as always brother!

Shawn, Are you considering the transition to using optics on your pistol, like ten RMR? These are a game changer! I recently attended Mike Glover’s Fieldcraft Gunfighter Pistol class and the instructors all agreed that every P.D. In America will be using pistol optics within 5 years. I admit it’s made a huge difference when I had my G17 slide cut for an optic and added an RMR.

I can’t believe that I have never shot off hand two handed thanks man!

I know those are the rage these days. I'm not a fan personally because I've had the smaller red dots crap out on me in the past. I'm sure they make them better now though. Might need to do something on that subject.

practical stuff. awesome Shawn. I've been shooting for 30 years and it's always a good idea to stay focused on perfecting the fundamentals. thanks for putting this work out. keep it coming...

Ok, tried this one at the range today with my semi .22LR - this drill is hard!!! Used tape about 1/2" and shot from 6-7 feet away. About half of my shots to the vertical line went south of the tape. Shots to the horizontal line were better, but not perfect. This is definitely a great skill improver.
