Here we go! The early access version of the 1998/99 DB are now live. 

Thank you for your support on this journey, i hope you'll have lots of fun with the new database.

Download the save game file and move it into the Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2023/Games folder. Run FM23 and go to Load game and select the 1998/99 DB save. The save game file has everything loaded, all the playable leagues and every single created player on the db.

Download the Editor file if you want to open the database with the pre-game editor or if you want to setup a custom career. Move the file into the Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2023/Editor data folder.

Thanks for dropping this, really looking forward to bringing City back from the brink. One issue however, I can't locate my Games folder in finder (OSX). I've browsed on FM which confirmed its saved where it should be but the only folders inside 'Football Manager 2023' are Data and the game file, I've checked in data and there isa 'game' folder but that is different to the 'games' folder my saves are according to browsing when loading game inside FM.

solved this now, for anyone else who struggles.. The easiest solution is to browse local files through steam but then go back to 'Sport Interactive' folder rather than Steamapps

Hey, yes you can only have one kit active kit pack at a time, its the same with the face pack and logos. So you'll have to move your current packs out of the Graphics folder, and then switch them around when needed.

Yes if you use the fmf file it does, but if you use the save game file it will load up quickly

The save game file don't include the regen mod. You'll need to download the fmf file and the regen mod separately

According to this file, 27 year old Alan Shearer (the record holding striker for PL goals) is rated 166CA, worse than Steve McManaman, Jari Litmanen, Dwight Yorke and Michael Owen. I think it's broken mate.

I completely agree on that, but i always copy the player CA and PAs as well as the attributes from the original game, which in this case is CM3 and this was how they rated him on the game.

How do you make this work with Retro Regens? since Retro Regens is a .edt file on your website?

The regen mod only works with the 98/99 db fmf file. The fmf file needs to be moved into the Editor data folder, and the support staff (regen mod) file location: steamapps\common\Football Manager 2023\data\database\db\2300\edt\permanent

Is there a list of all the leagues you have amended? Starting a new save from the database file and want to make sure I don't have any extra leagues added

Download the save game file and move into the Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2023/Games folder. Then run FM23 and go to Load game and select the 98/99 db file and you're good to go.

Sadly not mate. These custom db's essentially only works for the version of FM that they where made for. I'd wish it was different.

I'm on mac playing via epic games, I've added the file to my editor data but my database selector is grayed out and un-clickable and just say Football Manager 23. I've had a few problems with fm23 mods while in EG compared to steam with 22

Hard to see exactly where it came from on the income page but the finances did spike in December, it could be tv revenue

Hey. The file is in .fmf format how can i use this on pre game editor? I want to make a few changes on the database.. i have to convert the file into other type? Would appreciate help thanks

Really sorry, i'm being useless. I am working on a Mac. I have downloaded the link, but when moving it to the games folder it doesn't seem to alow me to either load up a game or even change to your DB. Seem to recall it been simple last time so can only presume I am doing something very wrong. Once I have done this I will be trying to add the regen pack on as well. Please help!!

Unfortunately and as crazy as it sounds official pre game editor doesnt load fmf files..

Fantastic work.. It would be possible to add this following missing kits on portuguese league in the future: Vitoria Guimaraes, Boavista (league champions few years later on 2000/2001), Académica, Chaves and Beira-Mar (they won the portuguese cup this 98/99 season!).

Also some teams appear with shortnames instead of the correct name: BRG should be Braga or Sporting Braga, BVT should be Boavista, MRT should be Marítimo and VTSC should be Vitória SC

The brexit agreement have been removed, work permit rule are still there

No. I disable all other options on editor data as advised. Should i mantain others besides your DB active? Like real names, competion names? Those do not enter in conflict with your database?

The real name fix file and competition names could inflict with the 98/99 db. If you use the save game file instead it should show them correctly

Bro - quick question, I am using the database , Serie A but there are no squad for the league ? just 1-11 numbers for starting team... is this correct / normal?

Sadly there's an issue with the squad numbers in Italy. We're working on a solution but haven't been able to solve it yet.
