If you download the save game file it needs to be put into the Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2023/Games folder. If you download the fmf file it needs to go to the Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2023/Editor data folder

Thanks very much! What did you do to fix it? I want to change it kn your 92/93 database on FM 22 as well.

Hey mate. It was Ahmad who figured it out. I think i have version of the 92/93 DB where the squad numbers have been fixed also. I'll send over the file to you in a dm.

Michael, there are 2 rules that need to be added (if have not) in the Advanced Rules (Italy) -> Fixture Rules. Rule#1 CUP and Rule#2 Serie A. This is applicable in both 92/93 db in FM22 as well as 98/99 db in FM23. Normally we would only focus on the option of "squad number" in Advanced Rules (Serie A) but may overlook the "squad number" option in the "upper tier" of the Italian league rules i.e. the Advanced Rules (Italy).

Do you think this can be fixed using the in game editor, to prevent having to start a new save?

Sadly you can't make these changes with the in game editor

Hmm that is strange, i'm not sure why that is. I've seen it work for others and also in my own save.
