Bro tell me WHY I actually love Meruem as a character so much? This anime has turned all the way up and I'm terrified of finishing it now 😭

I really love all the scenes with Meruem and the Gungi player! I didn’t even notice it at first, but when you mentioned that the flicker of light symbolizes the start of Meruem feeling something, I totally agree—you’re right. Come to think of it, Meruem is only a few weeks old. From the moment he was born, it was instilled in him that he’s a powerful king who will rule the world. But now, seeing him begin to understand human emotions beyond just greed is so interesting. I also love the part where he apologizes to her and severs his arm as a form of repentance. That moment really shows how complex Meruem is as a character. AND YES!! Girlie’s got the king wrapped around her little finger, and I’m so here for it!! Togashi really knows how to make antagonists so likable, even when they’re cruel. I mean, we’ve got Hisoka, then Chrollo and the Spiders, and now we have Meruem. 😭

The chimera ant arc is so crazy because it's made of so many mini-arcs and almost all of them are amazing. Absolutely adore this section of the story where Meruem is getting into gungi and really starting to introspect for the first time. He's easily one of my favorite characters of the show. Also I love adorable ass Ikalgo lol.
