Sakura

So happy you enjoyed this first episode ☺️ Also never completely trust the resume of a c-drama, they are often completely off the real story 😂

LKTV (Lok)

Thank yoiu so much for watching with me Sakura! Ahahaha and will do!

Aliesha Ellis

I have been on a Cdrama kick lately and I can't wait to see more. Hopefully, you'll do more Cdrama because they are fun, even when they are long episodes, you won't notice.

Julianne

Oh wow! I def didn’t expect this. Nice! I’ve been distracted by our new PS (playing Black Myth Wukong finally) so I definitely haven’t kept up past ep 24. Maybe this will get me back in and actually finish haha.

LKTV (Lok)

Let's go Terese! So good to see you here tooo!! thanks so much for watching and letting me know you're enjoying the vibes! ❤️

LKTV (Lok)

Hahaha let's gooo Julianne! Yeah I like to keep people on their toes (including myself LMAO), but this was a lot of fun. Thanks so much for watching, and I can't wait to get further with you! Enjoy Black Myth Wukong and the new PS!

Nika

I‘m also a complete Cdrama newbie, this was my 1st & they really lured me in perfectly haha😅 Someone recommended, I gave it a try with no expectations whatsover & before I even knew it I‘m completely down the rabbit hole and now I can’t live without my daily dose of Fan Changyu ^^ Enjoyed this vid a lot, rewatching here was so much fun & definitely excited for more 🫶

Little Miss Tea Bear

Such an amazing pick for a 1st C-Drama!!! It has such a great balance of character development and story narrative paired with the gorgeous cinematography and choreography. Would love to see more reactions since it's peaked your interest!!! 😊

Julianne

Absolutely an outlier. The set, lighting, intentional story boarding are absolutely outlier. Esp non “serious/realism” dramas. C-ent went thru a long period of umm. … basically money laundering and productions that shat on script writers and directors and prioritized big name payouts and backing investment. Not that there weren’t a couple great things every few years, but this is def an outlier. I love this director. He started out with short dramas (24 eps 15 min eps) and went kinda viral. 2024 he had his first longer drama opportunity (Blossom) and that was a hit with less budget. This is his first work with decent budget. He’s really good at budgeting his scenes and showing a lot visually without dialogue. And I love his framing and lighting.

Julianne

Also super good at directing romantic tension. Both sets of main actors (in 2024 and this one) mention that he’s super particular about how they detail their romantic interactions.

Let’s go, Aliesha! Definitely a way crazy response than I expected, but with this drama in particular I can really see the appeal. Thanks so much for watching! 🫶

Tania

OMG YESSSS!!! I’m so glad I found something to binge watch 😭 Can’t wait to go on this C-drama journey together~~ Honestly, I’ve never seen a reaction creator grasp the cultural nuances of historical C-dramas this quickly and your analysis is absolutely spot on!! And as someone who grew up with a Chinese background, I really appreciate your reactions and attention to all the little details!! 🫶

LKTV (Lok)

Oh Tania this was such a sweet comment! Thank you so much! This means the world ❤️‍🔥 I can't wait to keep watching more with you!

Thanks, joined you and Patreon for this, love it. Saw an interview with this director and the main leads. This has been a phenomenal hit domestically in China and, for the first time, globally. Netflix's highest-rated C drama. The director mentioned that Zhang Linghe (ML) was the most beautiful guy he'd ever worked with, and ZLH scoffed and said, “No... no, that’s not true. Don’t say that,” adding that the entire cast was attractive. After watching this, you can tell the camera loved the ML. For instance, he practically looked ethereal sitting in that pigsty, with a single sunbeam lovingly on him, his broken soul shining through his eyes as he looked at his saviour. The simple yet strong, responsible, and independent Changya may not be educated per se, but according to the FL, she’s smart. The ML described his character, Yan Zheng, as "a wolf in sheep’s clothing" at the beginning, and Xie Zheng as “invincible” in the second half of the drama. It’s easy to get immersed in the soundtrack and storyline. Apologies for rambling.
