A Dangerous Method? this oughta be good! 👌

Tyler Snook

always a pleasant surprise as well as a treat

Jung was the first female psychoanalyst. I haven't seen ADM since wide release but I feel validated that Eli and LCD Soundsystem hated it vociferously too. The conversation on the oceanliner(?) was the most canned, didactic shit. It's a bad script (unless you want to read it I guess?)

Chris Wright

Dasha you gotta boost your mic sweetie ☺️⏫⏫⏫🎤🙇‍♀️

Chris Wright

and Anna successfully bullied you back into say Jung like an amateur, stahp Anna. Yoong vs Young, makes me flinch every time I hear it

"Bart Simpson, melting pizza slice type of humor" You mean the Garfield Left?

MYK’L ROCKS

So this is what RedScareU would be like. Cool.

Red scare is feeding us so many episodes recently 🥰

Anna you might want to look into improv classes as well. Improv really gets you out of your comfort zone and gives you the setting in which you can act with less inhibition. I took an "Improv for Life" course which specifically focuses on how you can apply the tenants of improv in daily instead of focusing purely on hardcore improv. If I can find an Improv for Life course in Nashville I'm sure you can find dozens of similar courses in NYC.

Ghost Runner

You two should talk about NXIM.

Its cool to hear dashas insight into psychoanalysis for once

^_^

She’s rather disorganized, emotionally generous, and exceptionally idealistic

Columbus was a Genovese and not a Napolitano or Siciliano like most mobsters. Kind of curious why so many paisani or would be paisani would defend him. Italy was not a complete political entity until 1870.In his time, it was a Republic and would probably be envied or hated by the other city states.

Great pod. Have you guys tried booking the Lindyman as a guest?

Doug Dee

I love it when they do a movie episode. I'd like to hear their impression of Molly Haskell or Sandy Doyle..

Mauricio

Review the Hunger Games trilogy and it’s relevance to the state of the world today. Katniss is described as the contemporary archetype of gen Z.

More sociology and philosophy episodes please. I think Anna holds back because she imagines people will find her ranting self indulgent, but I love how she puts things.

In the movie when Jung wants to call it psychanalysis instead of psychoanalysis, I could only think about how dasha says archtype instead of archetype

Kiera knightlys acting was terrrrrrrible I was laughing

roman louche

Very engaging to hear Dasha fangirlgush on Kristeva/powers of horror/abjection.

philip podolsky

Really love the neck lymphoma guy. He has some other show-stealing turns in Cronenberg: in Scanners he's alone worth the price of admission. And in Naked Lunch, Cronenberg's most visually sumptuous film, where he's part of a terrific ensemble cast.

Louise Glück and Amber Tamblyn poetry book club next thanks

You guys should watch the series « to the lake » and make a review show.

Hello there. I wonder if Dasha and Anna would be willing to review ‘Les Valseuses’ (1974). Just saw it recently and it's quite interesting. Dasha gave it 5 stars on Letterboxd. It's quite transgressive by current lib standards and arguably suitable for the pod. How about pairing said title (which literally translates as 'Testicles') with a more feminine movie featuring Isabelle Huppert. Maybe 'Things to Come'? (though these films are perhaps too different.) Just a suggestion.
