i've been reading over your list of activities you wanted to do before the baby gets here, and i've been trying my hardest to make sure we get through every single one of them. it's finally fall, and i had the perfect plan to cross off three major autumn activities. you wanted to visit a pumpkin patch, take a hayride, and walk through a maze, all with rora, before the new addition to our family comes. we both want to make as many memories as we can because each moment is just so precious. but because you want to take it all in, i think you've been pushing yourself a bit more than you should. you're still pregnant, sweetheart, you have to take it easy. ten minutes sitting on some hay while rora goes off to pick pumpkins and play in the little playground is definitely what the doctor ordered.

Why is this so freaking adorable and wholesome?!?!? Ahhhhhhh I love it. 🍂🍁🎃🌽🧡 I have a list of fun things to do this Fall and I’m very excited about it. Some things at home, some out and about. I really enjoy trying to make each specific season special. (Say that one 3 times fast. 😂😉) Is anyone else doing anything fun this season? This weekend I’m hoping to do a little cleaning and decor, plus crafts time. Omg Rora with the tiny pumpkins!!! I saw some at the grocery store the other day. They had little paint kits with them. I might have to go back and get them. Super Dad and hubby of the day - keeping an eye on both us and Rora. So sweet. Then innocently guilting us into staying sitting while she plays. 😂😮‍💨

This audio was cute, but that provider line in the end was personally so off-putting to me. It’s 2025 — both men and women financially provide for their family. I don’t know if I’m just extra sensitive because of what’s going on in the world right now, but I want this type of content to be loving AND empowering. Usually the parenthood audios have this super supportive go-power-mom vibe which I love and utterly adore. And I feel like K’s paternal energy very much hits right when there are kids in the picture. I don’t know, but I could really use an audio with some female empowerment, because it’s fucking hard being a woman right now. 🥺

livy ♡

close to my bday ☺️🥲

every year he delivers on christmas 😭 first a puppy, then a proposal, now a child?? k pls

Jess

Did anybody else catch him saying "Before Theo's born" does that mean we have a name?

A

Totally understandable. For me I interpreted it more as you give work a sense of purpose because I can help provide for our family.

diana

I love this so much K 🫶🥹

Aiza🩷🌸

K did a series of polls and suggestions for baby names, back in 2023🫶🏼 In the end, we collectively chose Theo(dore)🩵✨

Jess

Ohhh I wasn't on Patreon back then so I didn't know that. Thank you

moya aurelia

and background… something feels like home 👉👈

Kickis

That’s a very good point, I didn’t think about that. I just … I cannot deal when a man uses the word provider or any type of ”You don’t have to work, I can take care of you” rhetoric. It makes me black out in female rage … and I have a lot of those moments these days. 😂😅💔

Sassypants

That was in 2023?! That’s insane it was that long ago 🫠

Sassypants

@A I interpreted it this way as well. And given this family is in the US, maternity leave isn’t really a thing…so K working means mum gets to spend more time at home when Theo is born. I’m proud of the fact that i make my own money & have personal & financial freedom, but in this instance? Where I’m parenting with someone, we are part of a family unit, being provided for gives me a sense of safety & support too.

Kickis

I totally get that — feeling safe and supported within a partnership is so important and everyone connects with that in different ways. For me though, that kind of male provider dynamic just doesn’t resonate. I was raised by a woman whose career was her identity, in a very matriarchal environment where equality at home was simply expected. Where I live things like parental leave and childcare are government-funded and split pretty evenly, so it’s kind of ingrained in me to see family life as a partnership. I’m building my life around the idea that I don’t want my partner to provide for me — I want us to both provide for the life we build together. I take care of him, he takes care of me and we show up for each other equally. Plus, I’m hyper independent and real fucking stubborn … so pray for the man who ends up with me. 😂

Kickis

And just to add a positive note — one of my all-time favourite parenthood audios is “Feeding Our Daughter Together.” I swear I listen to it at least once a week. I love it because he’s right there beside her, backing her up and supporting her while she’s juggling her career and being a new parent. And he’s so sweet and loving with baby Rora too. 🥹❤️

Sassypants

I was thinking this, but hoping it’s not so close to Christmas. I always feel for people who have birthdays around Christmas- like it gets a bit over shadowed?

cafogartyart

Willing K's appearance tonight...but listening to this on repeat to pretend my Octobers the last few years, this one especially, haven't been god awful and depressing

clémence

Female empowerment comes in many forms and so does the "go-power-mom" and I think that should be represented too.

Kickis

Totally fair take, I just have a different opinion. Both are valid. 😊

cafogartyart

Also low-key hoping K dresses as Bruno from Encanto for Halloween because he basically just needs the poncho lol

Anna

Late to this convo, but just want to say that I also hate the “provider” title as most of us know it. I hate how it’s mostly about money and the whole “I work to provide for you” thing feels icky to me. I feel like it implies that one partner works while the other doesn’t, as if being a parent in itself isn’t the hardest work anyone has ever done. I think it’s up to all/each of us to define/redefine that word how we see fit and as it relates to our own lives. I’ve been a stay-at-home-mom (not really by choice, long story but it was the pandemic…) and it was always very clear that in our family, “providing” was way more than just money. I was providing in ways that were equally as important and valuable as my husband who brought in the money. We both felt that way and he told me so all the time. Now that I’m a business owner x2, I still don’t feel like the money I bring in is what makes me a “provider”. It’s part of it, absolutely. And obviously money is super important otherwise we’d be living on the street. But yeah, providing is - to me, at least - anything and everything a person brings to the table for their family. Financially and otherwise! :)

Kickis

Anna, I LOVE the part where you said “I think it’s up to all/each of us to define/redefine that word how we see fit and as it relates to our own lives.” ❤️ This topic is so complex because, as you said, every woman has her own definition of what kind of dynamic she wants with her partner. It depends on her nationality, culture, family background, emotional history or finances. Personally, I don’t vibe with relationships where the man takes a more dominant or “handles everything” role. My parents never had that kind of dynamic and I’ve never had that dynamic in a relationship. That’s why when K leans into provider-ism or a slightly parental tone towards the listener in his audios, it disconnects me from the fantasy — because it’s just not a dynamic I’d ever want for myself. But it’s impossible for him to cater to everyone’s preferred relationship style. So we have to cherry pick the audios that we vibe with. 🥰👌 (Full disclosure (and my bad)): When I wrote that original comment I was PMSing my ass off and this audio just triggered me. 🫣 BUT I really love that we can have these kinds of conversations in this community. 🥰👌❤️)

Angelqiqi

[insert bella staring out window gif] 🧛😭

Anna

I feel like you and I could be friends haha. I feel the exact same way. I mean, I’m here for the storytelling of it all, not to put myself into the shoes of the listener, so these things don’t necessarily bother me in audios. In my mind this is the preferred dynamic between this fictional couple and I’m just listening in, so I don’t take anything personally BUT, in my personal life I would absolutely hate being treated and spoken to in some ways portrayed here, as if he’s my dad or something 😅 I have a strict policy in my personal relationship where I will accept love, care, protectiveness, nurturance, acts of service, etc, but he damn well better accept the same from me. If he believes I deserve it, there’s no reason to believe he doesn’t. If he wants to do these things for me, he has to understand and accept that I want to do those things for him too. This is a two way street- we are equally as worthy and deserving of nurturing.

Kickis

Anna, I’m low-key emotional right now because I feel so seen and heard. 🥹😄❤️ That’s exactly how I feel and how I approach relationships too. Everything he expects me to receive from him, he needs to accept that I’m going to give right back. Compared to you I’m not in a relationship right now, so I listen to these audio (and it feels kinda cringe to write this) but they help me feel like I’m in one. So maybe I’m a little more personally invested than you, because these audios have become a big part of me not feeling lonely or unloved. I actually have a question I’d love to hear your take on: When you listen to an audio — any audio, not just DD/LG-style ones — have you ever thought “That’s parenting, not caring for a partner”? For the past year I’ve noticed this subtle overlap, and I can’t tell if it’s just my own triggers and emotional baggage talking or if I’m onto something. 🤔

Anna

First of all, not cringe at all! I believe that’s the point of this kind of thing and why most people listen. The whole idea, from my understanding at least, is for the listener to put themselves into the story, feel like an active participant, and take whatever it is they need/want to take from that. I actually feel cringe being here as a married woman because I’m clearly not the target audience 🤣 I’m just a lover of storytelling and fascinated by this genre (genre? type?🤷🏼‍♀️ not sure what the right word is lol) and K’s audios are the most genuine and authentic, compared to most other creators in this space who are clearly reading scripts. (I also love K’s love of and respect for women - as someone who has been abused by men and had at one time lost all faith that good men existed - his dedication to his community, the community itself, etc.) To answer your question, yes, I have felt that at times. But you’re right that I’m not personally invested so it doesn’t bother me much. I do take note sometimes and think about how certain things would make me feel as though he (meaning my partner, not necessarily K himself) must think of me as a child. Or, that he must think of his role as my partner as more of a parent role. Which I would never tolerate. BUT, I also think a lot of it is done specifically for our sake. Like for example, the “you have things to do, no more procrastinating” type audios serve a specific purpose and are meant to be actually motivating to us as listeners, not necessarily for/as a romantic partner. I don’t really know if I’m explaining my thoughts correctly 😅 There’s just times I feel that things are less about creating the feel of an actual real relationship and more about being helpful in other ways to us as listeners. If that makes sense. That’s just my own interpretation though! Definitely not telling you how to feel about it ❤️

Kickis

Girl, no. Not cringe at all. We all need our little escape from real life — these audios and spicy books are like a mini vacation when we need it. And yes, K is in a league of his own when it comes to quality and realism. There are very few creators who are as good as he is. Also very sorry to hear that you have a history of abuse. 🥺❤️ And yes, you explained yourself so clearly — I totally get what you mean because I’ve thought the exact same thing. There are, as you said, audios that have a very specific purpose — like helping you focus, eat or even fall asleep at times. But in the ones that don’t have that specific intent I’ve also noticed that the line between partnering and parenting gets VERY blurred sometimes. Like you said ”he must think of his role as my partner as more of a parent role”. And just like you, in real life I would never tolerate that kind of behavior from my partner. And that’s when the fantasy glitches for me. From my persective, as a 35 year old adult woman, I already have enough people (at work, in my family or even my friends) trying to tell me what to do or how to think. My partner shouldn’t be one of them. He’s the one person I want to feel safe to share those soft, gentle, vulnerable moments with. And in those moments we BOTH let our guard down and just be. That’s just how I personally feel about it and I get that others might experience or see this situation differently. ❤️

Anna

I completely understand and agree!

moya aurelia

the way i SOLD my soul for this audio (non refundable, sorry) 🍎✨🧚‍♀️

moya aurelia

What’s funny and lowkey crazy enough to almost keep that to only myself but I wouldn’t be me if I did, plus nothing surprises me here anymore so; as much I can hear (if not, just let me burn with embarrassment) they’re talking about going to see grandma but then after this was posted, I went to see mine, I’m there a few times a week, so no big deal but guess what she had bought? a tiny pumpkins, and it was my first time ever seeing pumpkins in this house… yeah I needed a second to process what universe is playing
