it’s the halloween party. we’re dressed as a pair of pirates who are about to take the stage in front of a packed house. opening the night is slightly terrifying but having you with me while we do it makes it so much easier. the second we walk on stage you find your ex in the sea of people clamoring to get closest to the front. meanwhile you’re holding the spotlight with me behind the booth. as the set picks up and the crowd gets going you get more and more free, taking the mic, dancing, singing, it’s absolutely adorable. you peek over my shoulder and ask for personal requests and i can’t help but fulfill them for you. then there’s a moment while we’re dancing when we both look into each other’s eyes and we kiss, once, then again. in my head i think it’s for your ex but something deep inside me wonders if it’s something more, some part of me hopes it’s something more.
