Yeah, schools are only allowed to enter so many players in a tournament (I think 14 in this show). Right now, Karasuno doesn't have enough members to have to worry about this. But a lot of the other teams, especially the "powerhouse" ones have enough members that the ones not selected to play in the tournament have to watch from the stands. This means in those schools, even players riding the bench are at least good enough at their position to be selected as a back up over the other players in their club. So while it's not as big a deal at current day Karasuno, since everyone makes the cut by default, at prominent schools it's a really big deal for a first year to even get a jersey since it means taking one away from someone who's been on the team longer.

That's intense 😭 I seen big volleyball teams before, but not In a position where they can be so “separate “ from the team. Makes senseee thank you 🫶

I swear this season all the episodes just get better and better. Tsukki is such a slow burn but ohmygosh is it worth it. I love this show that highlights so many characters and makes you feel for them (I was a Tsukki HATER but he grew on me lol) and I love Yamaguchi in this episode, sticking up for not himself, but for his friend and telling him to get his shit together lol. This voice actor popped off! I hope ya'all are doing okay with the move and with life!
