Ashitaka is the ultimate symbol of keeping the middle ground and I love that San and Lady Eboshi are the 2 ends of the spectrum you have the one fighting for 100% nature and one fighting for 100% industrial and they were both wrong and right. Eboshi I think had good intentions taking the ones that society saw as disposable, the lepers and the whores and gave them purpose outside of what society deems all they're good for. This movie is great at parallels.
