Yeah that’s a good point about ushijima having to be consistent and defend his place at the top of the prefecture, and as one of the best players in the country. On a first watch, a lot of people don’t consider that perspective, because karasuno is our team and it’s really easy to root for the underdog

HAIKYUU IS BACK ON NETFLIX? HOW DID I MISS THIS! I'm so excited. now i can give Crunchyroll and my Haikyuu DVDs a break and watch it on Netflix. btw, the English dub is no where as profound or beautifully worded, or even translated in the same vein as its Japanese ver, but they're hysterical in vacuum. it's as if it's cannon goof'n of the real characters. if you ever get a chance after the 4th season, you should watch it and react to it. they're so funny that "they're my therapy for 2020" is a common sentiment in the comment section of said vids. Tanaka and Nishinoya are absolutely hysterical and Suga is so good at yelling at everyone and being done w everyone's shit. Ushijimais also hysterical in the dub. he's so dry n deadpan. Tsuki is so irritating, it's perfection. it's a loss if you miss it. ps. it's also so interesting that most of the "antagonist" characters of Haikyuu become fan favs after a couple of episodes centering around them. Oikawa, Tendou... there's another one in season 4

Yeah the English dub turns up the comedy dial a bit. Not bad for a rewatch, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it for a first time experience.
