I think part of the reason you see asahi mess up more is because he's the ace, meaning whenever they're in a tough spot then the set is gonna be tossed to him. And even then he's one of karasunos highest scorers in every game (pointed out by another comment).

the asahi slander is crazy🤣 he's a really good ace, i think he usually gets the toss at the most difficult times and that's why we see him fail more often than others. ace is typically the one who scores the most, so i guess we just don't see all the good plays he does. i absolutely love this episode. tanaka's character is so inspiring to me. it's amazing that we get to see so many characters and their motivations toward volleyball🤩

I’m Tired

Y’all this is your first watch with haikyuu and your memory hasn’t been the best with this show so I don’t blame you for thinking Tanaka scores more cause he loud and proud about his scoring but the Asahi jokes and slander all season is kinda tired. Hard to believe it’s not hate when every ep, YZ got something to say about Asahi, just a lil s disappointing 😕

Asahi hate crazy. Bro was the first to learn jump serving after Kageyama. Worked with noya to get the back row setting down. The third best defensive player on the entire team. Scores the most in each match and so much more and that’s just by this episode too.

If anything Asahi and Tanaka are pretty close overall but because of Asahi's power he is the Ace which makes sense. I think there are also some attacks Asahi can do that Tanaka can’t. Asahi is actually pretty consistent. I just think like you said he’s only really being noticed when he struggles or when he’s trying something new, so it’s hard to catch. He only really struggled with Date Tech, so him being consistent is often overlooked. He was playing great in the past few major games though. Tanaka is my fave but Asahi as the Ace makes total sense. Especially when you look at the Ace’s of other teams. Great reaction as always I love hearing your thoughts on the series. It is so engaging.
