the scenes at about 12 mins in happen often in anime. similar to the saying someone must be talking about you if your ear is itching. but instead Nekoma players got a chill when Karasuno was talking about them. Except Tanaka-Yamamoto they got hyped lmao. & yes there is a similar beach girl poster in Karasuno locker room and was in Nekoma locker room in season 1 too😂 I love season two. y’all guessed right it is a training arc and teacher Takeda confirmed it. new schools and new characters👏🏾

One thing that can trip you up: The dude we've seen glimpses of that they showed in the magazine as being on the Japanese youth team is Ushijima Wakatoshi, but a lot of people give him the nickname Ushiwaka (combining the first part of his family and given names). This is a reference to the nickname of a skilled swordsman in Japanese history. This is another time where they don't explain the nickname much in the show, since it's just more intuitive in Japanese culture (Like Aoba Johsai being nicknamed Seijo got, like, one off comment before moving on) but can confuse first time watchers when they keep switching up his name.
