This is one of my favorite albums. They wrote a legend that the truth untold should have been based on, but is theoretical. Is the story of someone living in a castle hidden, wearing a mask literally because he thought he was ugly and watching a women sneak into the gardens to steal flowers for selling. She was too poor, that's why he decided to create the most beautiful flower: Smeraldo, for her. But when he gained courage and went looking for her she was dead after suffering a harsh winter in the poorest conditions. SAD is not strong enough for this song. Anyways, don't let things you can do now for the future you if you still want it.

I’ve been looking forward to this reaction so much. The Tear album is my favorite... Every single song is absolutely insane, but especially 134340, which is my most personal song. I genuinely love this song. The fact that it’s named after the number assigned to Pluto after it was no longer considered a planet makes it even more meaningful. The song isn’t just about a breakup. It’s about when someone who used to be your entire world decides that you’re no longer part of their life, while you’re still there feeling exactly the same way. But to that person, you no longer have the same meaning you once did. When they say, “I kept revolving around you, but you erased me from your universe,” it’s just insane. My most personal song. somebody can probably express this better because I'm writing this on what I can remember of the breakdown at the time but it was hard to watch you guys debate 'The Truth untold'. That song is based on a story of a lonely man who lives in a castle, that only leaves whist wearing a mask because he is physically deformed (I believe?) and believes he's ugly and will scare others with his appearance. one day a woman breaks into his private garden because she loves his flowers and picks one. He then falls for her over time and starts to wait for her visits to pick the flowers but after a while she doesn't show up so he decides that he will pick the flowers she loves and meet her to reveal his feelings and finally take off his mask, only to find out she became sick and passed away. He is then haunted by his own weakness in not being able to face up to his insecurities sooner so that he could see her one more time. Seb is closest in the sense that the boys made the song in relation to the loneliness and longing the story expresses. It can most definitely be applied to their life and why they made it but it's not actually based on their personal experience but the story. I hope this helped and thank you for the reaction.

I get what Ben is saying about how them being idols hinders their ability to show their true selves, however, I feel like that’s the easiest relatability that reactors use for any of BTS’s emotional songs. They’re each such complex beings (as we all are) so it’s not always about them being idols. Although of course there is reason behind that take so it’s no hate towards it. Very much spot on. The flower is called the Smeraldo flower, a fictional flower that BTS used as reference for this. If you search Smeraldo flower, you can see this lore that was just described. Fun Fact: Jimin's SGMB or Smeraldo Garden Marching Band is related to this which is basically since in The Truth Untold, the guy was not able to confess until she died, Jimin in SGMB is giving opportunities to all the people in the MV to confess thus the lyric " Oooh I love you babe" 😄

Their vocals, the rapping, the lyrcisssssss, the production, all of it is so amazing. The lyrics that come from BTS will always and forever be unmatched and to know that they were going through a rough time while making this album, and considering disbanding will always be insane to me. The rappers were so passionate, the vocalists always eating down, this album is amazing, Jungkook harmonizing with everyone, sometimes Jimin and JK going back and forth with the adlibs, ughhhhh I just love everything about this album. never been someone who comments or complains, but please start looking at doolset or other sources like namjoon's album breakdowns to better understand the songs a lyrics i beg. you'll need to go beyond stardom and traditional love and understand the deeper themes of these songs.

Sadly and unfortunately he was. Not just Hobi. After they debuted the K-pop online communities frequently scrutinized idols' looks, & Jm was often targeted by people who criticized his facial features and there are ones that claimed he looked "chubby" compared to traditional visual standards. Maybe that’s why he went on extreme diets those times. Even now he is one of the members that gets criticized the most when Unfiltered images or videos of him without stage makeup , sparks negative comments from online critics who scrutinized his natural look. The Korean std of beauty most especially is something tht I will never understand. It puts too much pressure on the Idols to look pretty that a lot of them are insecure or gets shy to go on camera if they don’t have some sort of makeup on. Some even go as far as getting some work done just to fit that silly beauty standard . Reason why SK has the highest rate of plastic surgery per capita in the world. Especially for Idols who just debuted , which a lot of them are basically just kids (teenagers) when they debuted and hearing that can really do a number on their self esteem

I think what makes “The Truth Untold” so heartbreaking is the story behind it. 🌹 The song is connected to the fictional Smeraldo flower story about a man who lived alone in a castle because he was ashamed of how he looked. He hid himself from the world because he was afraid that if someone saw the real him, they would reject him. Then he meets a woman who comes into his garden to pick his flowers, and he slowly falls in love with her. He wants to approach her and tell her how he feels, but his insecurities and fear of rejection keep him from doing it. Instead, he creates a beautiful flower, the Smeraldo, hoping it can somehow express what he cannot say himself. But by the time he finally gathers the courage to find her, it's too late. She is gone. And that is what makes the title “The Truth Untold” so painful. It is about having so much you want to say, so much you want someone to know about your heart, but being too afraid to show your true self. The mask represents the parts of ourselves we hide because we don't believe we are worthy of being loved as we truly are. And the Smeraldo represents the sincerity that was never delivered. Sometimes the saddest thing isn't that love wasn't there. It's that the person was too afraid to let the other person see it. But I honestly I don't think it really relates to BTS although the idea of wearing the "mask" is probably the strongest metaphor. BTS have spent much of their lives being watched and judged by millions of people. There is the public version of themselves—the artists, performers, idols—and then there are the private people underneath all of that. The idea of “I want you to know the real me, but I'm afraid you won't accept me if I show you” can resonate with anyone who has struggled with that.

so with Truth Untold, Seb was correct in his explanation and that its deeper than that. alot of BTS songs are more based on stories with them putting themselves into that situation as well to better tell the story, rather than it being fully about their experiences. so Truth Untold is more of a story that they're conveying in the song and not really about them personally.

Love Yourself Tear is one of my favourite albums of theirs. Paradise will forever be one of my top songs from this album and So What will be always be one of the best concert songs and I was lucky enough to have this as a surprise song in Paris day 2. Guys Jimin never had any issue with his looks and he was never attacked in any significant way about his looks. Thats one thing if you ask me I think he’s been confident as well as letting the other members know that he thinks they are beautiful. You might be getting the harsh name calling they did to Jhope but even then he’s never expressed not being confident in his looks. The only one I’ve ever heard say they wish they were handsome is JK. Also, I don’t think he believes he’s not good looking I think he’s extremely humble and he may be referring to traditional Korean standards of handsome (which I think he is btw). Either way all of the members of BTS are stunning and very beautiful humans inside and out.

But I will say that it seems like he struggled with insecurities about his weight, self expression (fitting with the hyper masculine image of early BTS) and his vocals. He has definitely battled an inner critic that was tearing down his self-esteem. Thus the song Lie. So I don't think it's all confidence there. He works so hard because he thinks he has a lot he needs to improve on.

I really hated the time when he got targeted during the FACE era more recently. All because he didn't sing well during an encore at a music show. Then he kind of went offline for a while and took a lot of vocal lessons starting from scratch...so yeah, he does get affected by online hate. Even if it's not specifically about his features. Though you do hear him get self conscious sometimes when he is bare faced and on camera (that probably came from somewhere).

One of my favorite BTS song that I feel is not getting a lot of attention it deserves. BTS’ “134340” is one of those songs that becomes even more beautiful when you understand the meaning behind it. The title refers to Pluto, which was once considered a planet but was later reclassified and reduced to the number 134340. BTS uses Pluto as a metaphor for the pain of being left behind by someone you once loved and felt connected to. What makes it so heartbreaking is that Pluto still continues to orbit the Sun. Just like someone who has been pushed away, forgotten, or erased from another person’s life, yet still finds themselves unable to completely let go. To me, 134340 is about the loneliness of still orbiting someone who no longer sees you the same way. It is about loss, longing, and the painful feeling of being left behind while the other person continues on without you. BTS really had a way of turning something as vast and distant as Pluto into something that feels so deeply human.

OMG, I just watched the reaction to "The Truth Untold," and Ben, you are very mistaken. Jimin has never considered himself an ugly person; while it’s true he faced hateful comments about his weight at one point and had a hard time, he has never said that he feels like an unattractive man. Seb is the one who comes closest to the correct interpretation of the song; it has nothing to do with the members themselves. The BTS song "The Truth Untold" is inspired by the fictional Italian legend known as "La Città di Smeraldo" (The City of Smeraldo). A lonely man lives in hiding in an old castle because of his physical appearance, which causes him deep insecurity. To fill the void in his life, he cultivates a unique and beautiful flower in his garden known as the Smeraldo flower. Just to explain Anpanman (since I think a lot of newer armys prob think it's just a good vibe song): the song is based on the Japanese anime character of the same name, Anpanman. Anpan in Japanese means bread. So it's literally a cute kids character made of bread (he is adorbs if you google him lol). Like the lyrics of this song says, Anpanman doesn't have any typical superpowers. No super strength or impressive gadgets. His only ability is to literally give pieces of himself (again, he's made of bread) to others, which in turn gives them strength to get through their hardships. In this song, BTS, is embodying Anpanman--they're become a new generation's Anpanman. The lyrics talk about how they're not special, Suga says don't expect anything big from us and RM says all he can give us is Anpan: bread, or in this context, himself. While BTS works hard on their craft, secretly collecting bruises as a result, they show themselves to us as Anpanman: artists whose only way to help heal the world (or ARMYs) is by giving us a piece of themselves. By giving the world their music and pouring themselves out in that music. While they recognize themselves as not much, they're willing to do this for us, because they are "heroes," or as I interpret it, artists. They do this because that's what it means to be a true artist.
