“Blue & Grey” was written by V and originally supposed to be part of V’s solo album, but when the members listened to the song, they suggested including it on the BE album instead. The original lyrics were written in English, but they were adapted into Korean-English so the rap parts would fit better with the song. If you’ve watched In the SOOP 1, you might notice that V played the English version of this song while he was canoeing.

Just like “Into the Sun” for Arirang (a song written and composed by V) , “Blue and Grey” is also widely considered one of the standout and most critically praised tracks on “BE” album. “Blue and Grey” was written and co-produced by V. He first played the quiet acoustic demo on the car for the members during the in the Soop - BTS ver. in 2020 (The original English version). He originally planned to include it on his mixtape but After hearing the song, the members and staff loved it so much that they encouraged him to include it on a group album. V translated and rewrote the lyrics into Korean while the rappers added their own rap part for the song . The first part about “where’s my angel” is so V. Armys know that V is very spiritual and he always talks to his angels (another thing I LOVE about him as I talk to my guardian angel as well). When he makes decisions (even in Run BTS) you see him praying to his Angel . V shared that he wrote the song when he was “experiencing severe professional burnout, feeling as though his life lacked direction and even the things he used to love felt like chores”. According to V, he used colors to conceptualize or express the internal struggles of people experiencing or struggling with depression or dealing with mental health struggles. “Blue- represents deep sadness, pain, and psychological coldness while Grey- represents feeling completely empty, emotionally numb, or burned out”.

Just as an info, I think you would enjoy this A LOT and it would make sense to react to it. BE was completely self produced by BTS, during pandemic. It was the first time they kinda "let us in" on the process of making the album: they posted videos of their meetings, their brainstorming sessions (literally the meeting where they are brainstorming ideas for lyrics and themes, and what members should do what songs etc), the behind the scenes process(like deciding the packaging design also) and they were posting those things as they were making the album. Each member had a role in the making of it, (actual role, like Tae was responsible for the visual side of the album, Jimin was responsible for the communication within the team, gathering lyrics and melodies and organising it, JK was directing the music video, etc.. all of them were involved in writing, music and production.) Hi guys! The next album is PROOF, which is an anthology released to celebrate BTS’s 10th anniversary in the music industry. There aren’t many new songs on it, but I think the most interesting part is the demos they included. In my opinion, it would be amazing if you could react to them! I think it would be a great idea to listen to each song’s original version first, followed immediately by its demo. That way, you can compare the two versions while they’re still fresh in your mind and hear how much the melody and lyrics changed. In some cases, they’re completely different! I feel like listening to the original first would make the demos even more interesting, especially if it’s been a while since you reacted to that particular song. The demos are amazing, and it’s so fascinating to hear how different they are from the versions that were eventually released on the albums. Some of the demos include I Need U, Spring Day, and Jin’s Epiphany (I personally love how completely different the lyrics are in the demo!). There are 13 demos in total. Thank you! I really love your reactions, by the way! ✨

I had tickets to the map of the soul tour in 2020, my mom and I were supposed to go. This album meant so much to me because I started listening to them in 2016. I was the most depressed I’ve ever been during the pandemic (as many were) and they truly got me through it. Giving me something to look forward to and listen to. My mom and I finally got to see them at the Arirang tour and it was so emotional! 🥹

Glad you know the context of BE. This album was a tremendous gift to ARMY (and helpful to BTS, too, since they took the reigns). The world was weird, scary and harder for people on different levels. For BTS and ARMY lost our MOTS tour. BUT we got this, we got so much from the fellas during that time. It helped a lot.

Disease will always be my song on this album, every song is amazing, I also loved how they did ot7 and units. Hugeeeeeee respect to J-hope for having a hand in writing and producing this and respect to Jimin for writing the bridge of it. It all came together so well and I do agree that the breakdowns have gotten deeper and deeper every time. I don't even have to mention the vocals/rapping being amazing,, it is each and every time. Blue & Grey will always be THAT song its so beautiful 😭 as for the meaning behind it, V explains how he " wrote blue&grey when i was at my lowest point, when i was actually asking whether i could keep going with my work or not. even the fun parts of work became a chore, and my whole life felt aimless...those kinds of thoughts hit me hard." He used the colors blue and grey to represent the feelings of depression, anxiety and uncertainty. I always remember that moment during in the soop when he played us this song on the canoe 💜 this with life goes on, telepathy, and tbh every track on the BE album are certified bangers!

This album was due to COVID! M shocked you didnt know that,or anyone didnt tell you lol. Thats the main point of this album! If not for covid, MOTS7 were the last album and the boys had decided to join the military in 2020-2021 after their MOTS7 world tour. But then covid broke out, Tour got cancelled and they released dynamite and then BE on 19/20th nov(it was my birthday ,I remembr that day soo well lol). This album was made about being confined in their rooms thus Life Goes On being the title track. That is the main essence of this album. Bangtan Universe ended with Map of The Soul:7. This was the first time they were this involved in album making.The concept,the MV direction,most of the production ,album photoshoot ideas etc,was by the members. They were the most involved in this album,all 7 of them.Thers a BE-HIND video,you may watch. JK directed the Life Goes ON MV!!
