No they didn’t he was goofing around. Him and namjoon and coolio treated them accordingly. Coolio definitely had a soft spot for Tae. Coolio is the reason they’re not ignorant to hiphop and black culture cuz some of the things Tae and rm was doing was a bit offensive. But he didn’t know any better

It’s honestly hidden racism. Because so much of this fandom is against this show and don’t even want people to react to it. They use the excuse of the prank but rise of bangtan had worse prank on Jungkook and the fandom push it so much. Let’s be honest most of the fandom just don’t want to see BTS in an environment with black people. I love this reaction from you guys. This episode definitely is the funniest. Putting together the 3J team as a unit from the get go is a disadvantage to the other teams. Then they have Tony who among the 3 was the best tutor - he was supportive and kind. In fact, Tony and JM developed a good friendship even after the show. Dante - not so much. I didn't like how he treated Jin and Yoongi. He didn't really show any interest in helping them. And Charlie, that is Tony Jones, not Tony Montana. Tony Montana is a fictional character from the movie Scarface. I am glad you are enjoying AHL. It will get serious as the show progresses.

As a black army myself, this show was definitely cringe. Not because they were learning about black culture, but how it was awkward moments, Namjoon’s Stevie impression, how coolio was, first episode was even cringy, this whole show is cringe. It doesn’t mean it’s bad or that this wasn’t important, it was just cringey as hell.

A lot of people don't like AHL and even call it cringy, but it was so important, especially in developing their careers. They needed to learn more about Hip-hop and where it was rooted to actually understand it. beyond it helping their confidence, they were able to see and learn about the people who inspired their music. It also pushed them out of their comfort zones. They were rookies trying to prove themselves, find their identity, and figure out what kind of artists they wanted to become. We genuinely wouldn't have the BTS today without all of their experiences and awkward moments. It was character-building for sure 😭

I think it would also be good to know the timing of this show. BTS members were recording their first studio album in a garage at the same time as they were recording American Hustle Life. BangPD said that they were all unsure if the company would survive at that time. Members literally hid in the bathroom to take naps as they were so exhausted. I am sure they had fun during this time, but there may have been an element of exhausted giddiness.
