hey patrons, thanks to your generous donations during our May-treon pledge drive here's the first episode of our DND campaign. What will the show be called? Who will end up with the Turkey drumstick? And are all Arrokora thieves? There's only one way to find out. Enjoy!

I am all over this I've been waiting for this for years ever since I found out Eli played

Albin Jonsson

Would have payed all the money for video of this

Mama Llaga

*squee!!!* I love this so! In fact I am having my minion (a professional furry artist) draw your characters.

Samantha Brown

That was literally everything I wanted. Can't wait to hear what happens next. Maybe you guys should think of entering the DND live-play podcast market next

Mark Siefert

Hilarious! Heath needs to learn about DM Fiat.

Julie Wine&Reason

My favorite podcasters and my favorite game... y'all this bonus is my everything. I love it more than my children. (It's okay, I don't have children. I love this more than my imaginary children.) Thank you all so much, especially Anna because she had to deal with all the characters' shite. Great accent Anna! Also, Eli, you're an awesome Dungeon Master. The rest of you were hilarious. 💜💜💜

Julie Wine&Reason

Heath's character had the best back story. Noah's character was the best acted. I feel he truly inhabited the hick gnome illusionist. Morgan wins most mischievous character.

Julie Wine&Reason

Seriously though, you're all amazing and wonderful and the absolute best. Thank you again!

Julie Wine&Reason

So have I! I think I'm a better DM, just hearing Eli DM.

Dan

You guys playing D&D on the podcast? Didn't ask for it. Wasn't looking for it. Absolutely love it. THANK YOU.

Carter Hudson

I tweeted at you to do this over a year ago. Thanks for finally getting around to it. By the way, is this an adapted version of Waterdeep Dragonheist?

TheOldDruid

This makes me so fucking happy! One comment though: Heath, you antagonizing Eli isn't the same thing as Dave being antagonistic toward the World. The latter could be awesome if you'd really lean into it, but the former just keeps stalling out the shared narrative. Stop being -that- player.

James Hamblin

Is this going on the podcast feed? I don't see it there

Alextomcool

Say what you will about the satanic panic but this is some Satan magic gateway boardgame playing right here.

GeekOfDoom

So... this is the next show? Twice a month? With guests? What's the patreon goal to make this a relatively regular thing?

mike bean

This shit is hilarious. Thank you guys

Tony Stark

I love this! Been looking for a dnd-pod so this makes me really happy! Excellent job!

Tony Stark

Agree with geekofdoom, the world needs this regularly.

Mama Llaga

I have posted the initial sketch in the community for feedback.

Jason the Beav

Can this be a monthly podcast? I’m good for $10 a month :)

Rob

Part 1 of..... 200? :D

Irish Wristwatch

Ana is very clearly the only one who has played before lol. I shouldn't be surprised that the crew are murder hobos. That's a pretty standard starting point for most players

Perniciousducks

Ana is definitely going to punch Heath when next they meet

Donavan

Seriously the best thing I’ve ever heard as a super long time fan of the critical role podcast please please please take this to heart this is the best DND podcast I have ever listened to. I will pay almost any money for this to continue

Jackie Gardner

This is the best thing I’ve heard all week! Anyone ever see “Harmon Quest”? It’s Dan Harmon and friends playing their version of D&D and it was interspersed with animations of the storyline. I would love to see someone draw fan art of scenes from this!!!

Oxford Comma is Mandatory

Nice to know that in a fantasy world Heath would go Trump-ian with food and wealth.

Mother pheasant plucker

Is Heath's character a Skyrim ripoff? Also, amazing! Some of the funniest stuff y'all have done.

Chris K

Best RPG actual play podcast ever. Make this an ongoing show, please.

Shane

Never played DND. Don’t care about DND. I will pass. You all enjoy it.

darkora

I loved this so much, can't wait for more :D

Krafty

This episode was so damn good, I HAD to become a patron again. I've been mooching off my beloved giant, black, invisible aardvark-under-the-stairs for TOO LONG! PiaT peeps perpetually provide preeminent patron prizes.

Petra Khor

This made me so ridiculously happy!

PlatinumRMX

Shout out to Anna for actually trying to play and keep it going.

Jim Phynn

Question for you: which app(s) did you use to play over the internet? I ask because my girlfriend is trying to organize a game online with some friends around the country and has been having some technical difficulties

PlatinumRMX

Roll20.net is a good one

Jennifer Licavoli

Wow. I’ve only heard of DND. I am definitely the Uber dork that doesn’t get it at all,

Melevolent

This is beautiful and should continue forever.

Chris Graffeo

I never played or cared for it either. But this is one funny ass story. Don't deprive yourself.

Shawn Miller

Did Eli reskin Dragon Heist? Cause I'm loving it!

Dave

Okay, fine. FINE! I already support God Awful Movies and Citation Needed, but I guess now I'm supporting THIS show too. I guess that's what we're doing here.

Schofield Miller

I really enjoyed this bonus. I've wanted to play dnd for a while and bought the starter kit from target in 2015. I got my friends together and I tired to DM but I had no idea what to do and we gave up in the middle of the first combat encounter. Now I am trying to learn again but having my experienced friend DM so I can pick up the mechanics better.

Jason K

What Bryan said.

Xiphos the Steampunk Chimbleysweep

Oh man. . as someone who occasionally DMs I can feel the exact moment Eli's joy at running a game for his friends turns into perplexed sorrow as he realizes he's dealing with murderhobos. I applaud his restraint at not dropping a beholder on the dragonborn.

The Deep State of Kelno'reem

This was brilliant. I only tracked about half of what was happening, but you guys still had me cracking up the whole time. And I don't know what the hell that little vignette at the end was, but I'm intrigued. Moar!

Markus D

I feel like doing that would only make it worse, but I had a similar feeling despite never being a DM, just that feeling of it slowly becoming exhausting to listen to instead of funny...

Tab cole

Seeing as we are starting a new dnd campaign tonight, I am very much looking forward to finally listening to this episode

Anaxamander

my word, this is what my campaign will sound like

Matthew Maxon

Thank you for the shout out. I almost died laughing when he said my first name but pronounced my last name perfectly. Then, a few minutes later said my first name! :)
